Help! I think I’m looking at some kind of nutrient problem here, but not sure what …this is a Feminized Juicy Fruit strain*, growing outdoors still in Vegetative stage.*
Gave nutrients last Sunday. Went out of town on Friday and the plant did not look like this. Came back today and it now has all these yellow leaves. The weather over the weekend was in the mid 70’s with no rain. Plant got plain water Saturday night.
Plant is still nice and green at the top and it other places. I have an auto flower growing in the pot next to it, and it looks fine.
Hello and welcome back also sorry to hear about the issue. Great description btw details like that help kinda narrow problems down and I’m thinking it’s either a ph imbalance or a nitrogen deficiency and being that it has started from the bottom and in the Pic I can see some of the green leafs tips starting to fade I think she is lacking nitrogen. And I’m assuming depending on where you live she is probably going thru her flowering stretch and eating up the nitrogen pretty quickly.
Have you switched to bloom nutes or just in case it’s a ph issue do you ph your water?
Hey Smokey, thanks for the input. I do pH check any water that I give them, but since they are outside I can’t control the rain. Lol.
I haven’t switched to bloom yet, because she’s not showing any signs of flowering yet, we are still over 14hrs of daylight here right now.
I was thinking it might be a nitrogen deficiency, as the nutes I’ve been using aren’t real high in Nitrogen. I just bought some new stuff, so I’ll give that a try tomorrow. I’ll update in a couple days!!
Also as far as dark hours go with outdoors it’s technically 10.5 hrs they need and are in sync with mother nature and will start slowly switching over to flower around this time again depending on where you live but if in the north east we are transitioning into flower around this time. The 12/12 cycle is more for indoors to make sure plant stays in bloom phase as they don’t have the luxury of syncing with mother nature.
As for rain about 99% it’s great for the plants and carries more oxygen in each molecule than say tap water and part of the reason you’ll see a difference in growth after a rain day. It’s more the damage that a heavy rain can do or amount actually being pissed down at once so don’t stress that too much. Except during mid and late flowering then try to shelter plants and buds during rain days to avoid mold and mildew
Ahhh good to know about the outdoor dark hours! It’s my first outside grow, so still got a lot to learn! And I’m in NY, so I’ll definitely keep my eye on her now! Thanks again.
Just an update: plant looks great! Those extra nutes did the trick! 4 inches of growth in 5 days!! Will be feeding weekly instead of every other week from now on. Thanks for your input!!
