Hello everybody!
I am planting 2 auto seeds outdoors in a 20L pot. I have many doubts about watering, I have read conflicting instructions on whether to water only the part around the stem, others that say to water away from the stem so that the roots spread out and exert effort, then I have read that you have to spray several times a day but others say not to do it because the roots become lazy.
I am attaching photo, I am afraid it will stagnate in this state as happened to me with a previous one. How much should I water it in this phase? How many ml / frequency? Help please greetings!!!
I would say water a few inches away from the center of the plant / or the distance of the leaves away also u dont want bone dry soil i only mention this because your soil looks on the dry side seedlings need high humidity u should maybe put a plastic bottle over her like a humidity dome and spray the the inside of the dome i believe your lookin for around 70-80% humidity do not spray the plant as watter droplets act like small magnifins and will burn the leafs maybe water the soil around the plant and a little a few inches away and apply a humidity dome spraying the inside of the dome will help, seedlings take water from there sugar leaves at this stage while the roots esablish them selves so u do not want to drown the roots zone then once the plant starts veg u can remove the dome. I before planting my seedling will have watered the pot prior to transplanting my seedling so its not over sturated but slightly moist then apply a dome hope this helps… and hopefully some one jumps on this thread and has an input also. im no professional but theres pleny hear to help. You also can type in the search bar of grow with jane with what you are looking for and fnd out some more key i formation happy growing
@Grant2047 pretty much covered it for ya high RH as seedling is taking moisture from the air right now and developing a root system. For the soil both some water a ring around stem about 1/4-1 inch away until your fully watering the pot and others will water all the soil some parts heavier than others so the water retains longer in the heavy areas so roots stretch towards it once the lighter watered areas dry up so its really your choice. I like to put just a few ml on stem area just to keep the soil moist but do the watering ring mainly. At the stage your in id say add 10-15ml of water around stem area then do about 50ml ring an inch outside of stem until she is established more and just slightly mist rest of soil to microbial life thriving until she starts feeding off her root system. long story short 70-80% Rh and moist soil lol im stoned and the long version sounded cooler in my head my bad
Any fan moves plants enough that you will never have a problem with droplets of water burning leaves. I have never even seen that happen outside and the sun is unmatched when it comes to light intensity. Another one of those bro science things as far as im concerned. I’ve been foliar feeding my girls for 20+ years so if it could happen im pretty sure I would have seen it by now lol
Its just the pre cautions i have taken i read about it not experienced it. I grow indoors so i try and take every factor into consideration so i can go back to my diary if i have or see any problems then i can check my diary to see what i have done different.
The way i see it is if there a problem i most likely caused it! Leadr then im able to back track and take every environmental factor into consideration, feeding, light, and ammend / advoid doin it again…
I personally just want to get back more positives than negatives i like growing and dont wanna be put off by silly little mistakes and then can never work them out or no where to look… every day is a school day happy growing ppl
