I currently run a 400w hps light in my 3x3 and get great results altough it can seem a bit hot? I have a circulating fan on the ground a mars hydro 4 inch fan and filter at the very top to exhaust air. My question is how do you guys cool your tents better without using air con?
My exhaust fan constantly runs at max and on average my temps read low 30s.
Humidity is consistently under %50 also.
Have had no light bleaching or burns on the plants yet but the light is hung as high as possible.
Cheap and easy ways to cool it?
Are ya able to add some ducting from a window to the exhaust fan and run as an intake for cooler air and possibly use a small cheap fan you can rig up to one of the port holes and use as the exhaust?
About the most efficient way is probably going to be jumping up to a 6 inch inline if the 4 is struggling that much
If you are able to remove the carbon filter without the smell being an issue that would also increase the efficiency of your exhaust fan
Im trying to avoid dumping the old air from the window as its next to the buildings front door…
I didnt even think of this! Ill give it a try man. Would it have a similar effect if i moved the filter to outside the tent?
Been a while since my HPS days but I ran the cool tube ducted reflectors. With the LED’s taking over you might find one fairly cheap
Ill have to check this out! Thanks frog
Run some ducting to the window from the intake port of the tent so you’re pulling cooler air into the tent, leave the filter and fan where it’s at. Make the room cooler with the home climate controls? Moving the fan outside the tent would help also just run ducting from the top of the tent to the intake of the fan and directly connect the exhaust of the fan to the filter will get your fan and filter out of the tent removing the extra heat the fan itself puts off.
Thanks for the advice!
I rather not have any ducting thru the window because its next to my front door. As for “climate control” all i have is ac and i prefer not to run it.
The fan outside of the tent with filter is a great idea ill try that!
