Help with new plants

I’m growing g-13/ grape kush/critical jack. All fem seeds. I usually start in the paper towel but this time I soaked in water for 24 hours then planted directly in soil. Organic seed starter no nutrients yet. They germinated and popped above the soil now after 3rd day they are bending in half leaves are curling down and wilting what am I doing wrong. I have about 18 inches above.

How moist is the soil? Seed starter wouldnt be string enough to harm with nutes and if all 3 are doing that im wondering if soil is too wet and possibly caused root rot

We need a little more info to help you from repeating this. Did you get excited about the seeds sprouting and over water? Is that Coco? How do you determine if the plant needs more water? Weight?

That looks like what is called “damping off”, a fungal issue that is common in cool, wet soil. The constricted lower stem leading to the plant falling over and dying is a classic sign of this. Pythium is likely but the condition may be caused by other fungi as well.

To my knowledge there is no effective treatment or solution for this other than to sterilize everything and start over. Adding a bit of perlite to loosen things up, help drainage and increase oxygen levels in the soil can help prevent this in future grows.

Once I put seeds in the dirt I water well once. There is a small drain hole in bottom of solo cup. It’s moist now but doesn’t seem too wet. Out of 8 total plants only 1 is going to make it the others have already shriveled up

According to this maybe it’s too dry? I have lights set for 18/6. My humidity is still low I’m hovering around 39%

As @frogyrogy said its called damping off and it’s usually from being too constantly wet with no dry cycle.
Two suggestions I will make are add some more drainage holes to the cups along with a little bit of perlite or similar to help aerate the soil a bit more and to pur more soil in each cup to bring it up closer to the top when planting next time. That helps to get better air flow to combat issues like this.

Unfortunately i don’t think anything can be done for this round

Those meters will kill your plant. They get inaccurate real quick. Go by the weight of the container.

Thanks for all the tips. I just started another 4 seeds we will see what happens in a week.

Basically what crackadoo had mentioned and i also agree with bluntforces assessment about it being damping off. I totally forgot about that as ive never encountered it but have learned about it by coming across it from researching other things. Hopefully these next set of seeds work for ya and as always we are here to help if ya need it. Good luck bud and enjoy your day
