I’m growing a Critical feminised photo in soil/perlite. I’m feeding with much diluted grow nutrient after a flush (v high ppm). I give water and nutrients at 6.6-6.6 pH. runoff comes out at similar levels with RO ppm around 750. Environment is a tent with good and PPFD of 300-330.
She is growing well and seems healthy and is 4 weeks into veg but the latest new growth is all coming out yellow, especially tips. A White Widow of similar height in the same tent is not showing the same yellowing on new growth. I’ve raised the lamp but PPFD is ideal so I don’t think it is light burn. Fan is very gentle so not wind. I’m guessing it is nutrients related. Does anyone have thoughts on what it could be? I will add photos.
Not every plant is the same or has the same requirements. The new growth is always a bit lighter; it takes a while for it to darken. However, I notice slightly yellowish tips on the larger leaves. That means that if it doesn’t get worse, she is at her maximum nutrient level. If it doesn’t get worse, you can continue as is. If the discoloration worsens, you’ve overdone it with the fertilizer application. Keep an eye on her for now.
Thanks a lot Herr Green. Good to know about the lighter new growth. The yellow tips on the lower leaves are what prompted me to do a major flush a week ago due to nutrient burn. Hence why I’m on 30% nutrients now and the EC/ppm levels are much better. I’ll keep a close eye on her and will probably alternate water/nutrients for a while.
