How can I reduce pH during seedling stage?

Hey all, first time grower here!

Ive run into my first challenge - too high of pH levels.

Im currently in the seedling stage, potted in 3gal of FoxFarm Happy Frog (yes, i know the pot is big to start in &yes i know i should have mixed), running a consistent pH level between 6.7-7.0

Now, my question is, how could I reduce this pH level down to around 5.8-6.3 without putting to much stress on the little lady? I have FoxFarms Nutrient Trio (Grow Big, Big Bloom, Tiger Bloom) but I have yet to do any real supplementing.

Once again, this is my first run so its a bit of trial and error! Any help is much appreciated.

Hey.

Same shit I’m going though… all comes down to the soil…

I bought prenuteient soil that has a market and should not be added any nutritients … So pH is regulated but if You add your own nutritients even pH balanced it gets crossed.

So build your own soil or check the instructions

Just like I have you would think soil is soil lol … But eventually it all comes down to the medium you are growing in.

@Asyla You wanna aim for 6.0 to 6.5 pH for soil. 6-7 is the whole acceptable range. Here’s a nice pH Up + pH Down Kit. Keep in mind you need different tools for measuring soil pH and water pH, cant use a water tool to measure soil etc, unless its specifically meant to measure both. Bluelabs has great meters, I have one. Happy growing!

@Graywave So would it be acceptable for me to start using nutes in this stage of seedling? Or should I wait after another water feeding? Im not sure if you’ve seen my growlog. Thanks for the pH links!!

@Afrinyo what soil are you currently running while running into your issues?

I’d say start pH adjusting the water you give her. It’s good to know your soil pH, but knowing the pH of your inputs (ie watering solution pH) is more valuable since we know Happy Frog is pre-amended to be pH stable.

Happy Frog is amended and seedlings don’t need much, early veg sounds like a good time to start nutes for that soil. I grow in Ocean Forest which is more heavily amended than HF and I water until about week 4 in veg before adding nutes. There’s root boosters you can get which are meant to help develop more vigorous roots in seedling phase/veg, hope this helps
