Hi, the small white threads, the pistils, are turning brown and there are hardly any light ones coming out. You can also use a magnifying glass to look at the small crystals, the trichomes, when they are mostly milky or amber colored. Then it is ready and needs to be dried for two weeks after harvest. Otherwise it will still be scratchy and taste like hay.
