I paid 230 USD for 5 drip rings, tubing, preset carrots and some valves. I spend another $100 on my res, it’s a 55gal trash can. You could save some money there if you are OK filling it up more frequently. Some people just use a 5gal bucket. Basically anything that can hold water will make a good res.

How? I filled my res 4 times for 6 10gal grow bags. It took me all of 30 minutes to set it up initially. Where is there a lot of work?

To be honest, I think drip irrigation systems also produce larger flowers than Octopots, Autopots and similar systems. The plants simply always get the right amount of nutrients and water at the right times. As long as you mix the correct amount of nutrients and set the timer to deliver the right amount of water at the right times. But I think systems like the Octopot are great for mother plants or if you simply use them during the vegetative stage. 
If my HPA system fails, I’ll get a drip system too.
