I was gifted some beans, i have no idea if they were auto, reg, or fem. However I am growing them in a 3x2x5 AgroMax(cheap) grow tent and 155W LED. I bought a humidifier since my basement is very dry these days. However I still am trying to figure out why my RH% does not go higher than 38%-41%. My temp fluctuates in the low 70s and sleep time it stays in the 65 range. Any help would be appreciated.
You can always raise the humidity by placing large cups of water on the floor under the lights to get the water to evaporate and soak towels and hang them with the bottom of the towel in the cup of water, I couldn’t get abound 20% humidity and doing what I mentioned above it brought me up to 45-55% until I bought a better humidifier
Are you pumping air into the tent from inside your basement or from outside? If it’s from the basement you could potentially raise the humidity a lot by pulling air from outside and crank the heater to full blast to compensate for the cold air to equalize the temp in the tent
Welcome @jayzo420.
Where is the humidifier, inside the tent? And as @209MIKE asked, where are your intake and exhaust located?
Your exhaust may be sucking most of the moisture out.
Thanks…and yes it’s inside the tent.
@209MIKE my humidifier is inside the tent. I have a fan on the outside of the tent pushing air into the tent. And on the left top of the tent I have another fan facing upwards like exhaust. @canagen you mentioned I may be pulling moisture too fast. I assume reducing fan speeds will help? Should I consider buying an actual ventilation system? Or finding the sweet spot, and adding towels and cups with water to help? Thank you for the help again, this community already feels different than the rest. Happy holidays btw
Thanks for the pic of your setup. Yes, you can try and reduce the speed to reduce extraction. I use a 12v computer fan coupled to a 15’ flexible hose as my extractor and have another 12v computer fan drawing air in externally. I have had to coil the extractor hose to reduce airflow in a 3x3 x70.
One thing I’d like to comment is that clipon fan. I would have it lower, facing the same direction so that the airflow will sway the leaves. You want to guard against mold and mildew issues. Bonus points if it is an oscillating fan. That can be run at a higher speed.
As it looks now, your plants’ leaves seem to be drooping down. Do the leaves looked wrinkled to you? Where is your humidifier situated, behind the blue towel? When I was trying to situate my humidifier, I would notice a wrinkling effect on the leaves that were in constant contact with the mist. Not good at all. Right now, I have my humidifer’s output directed against the front zip up door of my tent, relying on a10" oscillating fan above to disperse the mist evenly.
What is that sitting on the edge of your pots?
@jayzo420 I agree with @canagen, I’m seeing drooping leaves too, humidity is a lot more important in bloom state vs veg. At the moment I would diagnose the drooping leaves. It seems like too much light or overwatering. Is the long white object sitting on the pots a fluorescent light? Fluorescent lights do work but it seems really close, they might be experiencing too much light being that close. Growth stunt in veg will hold you back at flowering time for bud sites and overall yield
