Is this plant ready for harvest?

Brown pistols but the trichomes don’t look cloudy and brown enough… Do you think this plant is ready to harvest based upon these photos.

If the trichs are all cloudy with a few brown ones, and the hairs are brown, it could be anytime now. If you want to wait a bit more fore brown trichs, that is decision for you based on the type of high you want.

If there are still some clear trichs…well…up to you.

For reference, I have a plant that still has some clear trichs. Not many though. It also has brown hairs but it also has some amber trichs on some buds but no amber trichs on other buds. :man_shrugging:

That plant is going in to 48 hours of darkness, starting tonight. Harvesting on Friday.

I’m sure that helps 0%. Haha.

Good luck. Let us know what you decide.

She’s ready if you feel she is. Use a 30x jewelers’ Loupe. Mostly I go for 30% amber in the trichomes. Buds are ready to harvest when most of the “hairs” have darkened and curled in and you can see the solid bud underneath. Trichome heads start out clear and glassy. At this point, buds are not very potent. As buds mature, trichome heads turn milky white. They kind of look like plastic. These white trichome heads indicate the highest amount of THC. If given more time, white trichome heads turn amber/golden (for most strains). Amber trichomes have less THC but produce more of a relaxing/body/anti-anxiety effect.

I still struggle to wait myself. Do you have enough stocked already? I base most of my decisions on what the next set of plants needs. You will hinder your harvest holding plants back. You also hinder your harvest by taking too early. It is quite easy to start an LA traffic jam! Watch your numbers and stay within regulations. Taking plants early has THC benefits, and true flavor comes with age. If you are new? This is just growing pains, things get easier. I would take it so I could dry and soon cure.
