First time growing, been reading stuff as I go along and kind of winging it. My wife found some seeds in some store bought Lime OG and I said it’s time for a science experiment! 9ish weeks in (I didn’t pay attention to the date because I didn’t think they would survive) and I believe they are starting to flower…maybe…
As it was a science experiment in my mind I used a bag of local organic potting mix that we used on other potted outdoor plants. I know I should be paying attention to the nutrients but not really sure how lol, I’m pretty impressed the more I read how precious these “weeds” actually are.
The girls seem to be doing well. Starting to see lots of pistils on the bigger one and the smaller plant is showing them as well. These pics were from yesterday.
We have had thunderstorms the past couple days so I brought them up to the porch. Today was a sunny day so I brought them back to the yard, it is hot today though 84f. I just got home and they were super thirsty and droopy, a little water perked them both back up but I noticed something on the smaller plant. I have 2 roots that are sitting right at the surface that are now green. I also noticed the soil did not soak up the water as fast as it should.
I know that this plant is in a smaller pot but I assumed that would just effect yield, I’m assuming she’s root bound? I have flower and bloom nutrient mix coming tomorrow that I was planning to put on top anyways but is there anything else I should do? I can’t imagine I can transplant her safely now but I don’t really know. Thanks in advance for the long read and any help you can offer.
Buds are forming, yay! Hot again today 86 so gave a spritzer of water on the leaves and nodes to make them happy when I got home. Just added 2 tsp of flower lady and mixed it in with the top soil to both and going to give them a slight bath. I watered yesterday but 2inch in is dry while the bottom is still moist.
I plan on picking up some calmag tomorrow and adding half a dose to each to see how they do.
When do I start to defoliate these babies? They are looking nice, smaller pot is starting to bud but “Bessie” as I call her, is looking like a good time.
You can take them ALL if you are bold! I would wait for that type of training for once you gain more experience tho. Just take the leaves shading other bud sites. And the leaves facing inward. They can block the flow of air/Co2. I can take a few pictures to show you the various stages of recovery. The girls are sleeping. Unfortunately I run my light at night. One to save on power, and second to save on heat. An old CA tactic from back in th day. So I will take them in green light for ya!
The first lady is Chocolope recently cut and trimmed. Second is Herijuanna cut and trimmed about a week ago. And the third is the Mother (seed) Herijuanna due to finish up next month. I only took Large and Medium leaves off. Taking care not to injure budsites.
Ok, I checked out a few of Kyle’s videos and while at first he kind of skeeved me out he does seem to know his stuff.
With that being said I did some picking of the under leaves on the smaller plant and she has responded nicely. Bessie as I call the bigger one seems to still be doing good with once again super high temps today.
Got the cal mag today and even though I watered this morning, I plan on giving them some in the morning to another day of 90 deg Temps.
Cheers to all for the help and here they are today, little last bit of light shining on Bessie.
…Kushman chiropractics. At first I didn’t really take to Kyle but after watching a few vids from a few different people, I’ve grown to really like the guy. He definitely knows his stuff.
Things are going great! Lots of problems with the high heat and humidity, but they pulled through. WPM dealt with. Egg like things dealt with… but they still stump me as what they could be. Now dealing with lots of rain and wind and so the girls are visiting new spots to shield them. Fingers crossed they make it to harvest as I have a few weeks im thinking. Either way, can’t wait till next year! Thank you all so much.
If I can add to any new growers looking for advice, check your water ph. I never realized I had a potassium deficiency until I changed my water.
