Mirror’s create beams of light that’s warms up and burns. Light bulbs defuse the light so it’s not a beam.

Good point.

Reflectivity of materials has been tested out the wazoo and silver mirrors are no more reflective than silver mylar, just a lot heavier, fragile and more expensive.

Man, thatd be a site! Some freakin cool endless garden illusions going on!

Sadly though, I think i read like @Bentgenetics said about the beams of light getting focused, I think its the same reason all the mylar has dimples and not smooth surfaces to break up and disperse the light more evenly.

thnking the same as but as for lumins would they niot just be endless , no idea and im stoned n prob taking rubbish but wellk it least gets me talking  im trying to start a debate not a argument obviosuly optimum stuff mirrors etc would of been testerd as for mirrors being expensive ya flass is but you can get plastic sheets , obviously it doesnt work but why niot ? as if worked ppl would yse it , so why is pppl say put light on buds ?

so its doewn to price but why is mylar dul and not mirror finish ?

I bought a roll of mylar that had a mirror finish off of eBay. The mylar with dimples is to diffuse the light to stop hot spots as mentioned above. Happy growing.

I have a spot in our yard that wouldn’t grow anything. Long story short, i found out the reflection from the sun hitting the window burnt the ground. So it would cook the seeds before they could germinate.

That’s what will happen if you would use mirrors

If it can burn the seed, then it could burn the leaf which could cause a fire. :flushed:

It’s pretty simple. Mirrors reflecting all the light which falls on the plant’s itself. The result is, that you see the plant’s in the mirror and don’t have such bright reflecting surface as you would expect. The best light reflecting surfaces are in those new white wall tents. They are reflecting like 85% of the light output. Silver wall tents only like 75%.
