Not impressed mainly because the infusion bit is mostly a gimmick. In fact I regret buying this, now that I have it realize I never needed it. I can’t even recall the last time this has happened to me. I pride myself in pre-purchase research. So IDK if was fake reviewers or people with very very different expectations.
As a table top decarbing oven it’s ok, I guess. It does nothing to control odor, so it’s no different than my oven maybe worse in that regard. The timer function makes it useful but it despite it’s bulk 14" tall with 10" footprint it limit to only 1 oz of dry and has condensation issues if not super dry.
It’s stoner easy to use, a button for decarb, butter, oil and tincture. With arrow on each side to change temp and cycle times. The decarbing bit requires an insert or wont reach target temps.
The infusion bit sounded good but it’s gimmicky. The whip in Ediwhip is for the auto mixing feature, which sounds like a coffee grinder when in use which is off and on for about 4 hours. Combine that with odor and this worse than conventional methods by far IMO. Oh yeah to make that work you need to using at least two cups of wet. It’s too loud and smelly to use indoor IMO
In hindsight I should and got a decarbing device only, cheaper and smaller to hit those dry quantities. I can’t imagine sending this turd back so I guess this be a lesson learned.
Oh this one is a knock off of some pricey models it’s currently only $129. At $300 it would go back for sure if I was this unsatisfied. From my point view a decarbing machine is starting at around $90 so I taken for only $40 or less.
I just can’t stress enough that conventional methods for the infusion work fine. This is auto stirring but it’s loud when it pulses and end up minces the dry in the process. Although through a coffee filter this did not seem to have any negative impact.
Typically you wouldn’t heat tinctures where this does and that does seem to burn off some alcohol as this isn’t hot, but I’m not sure that’s I prefer that either.
That is after running for 30 minutes, it thinks it’s at 253F. This thing just ruined 2 oz of bud and a half years worth of kief. If I had paid street prices for that…
This is the same method of testing they show on the Amazon page. I just used two crossed to see if it was heated even.
At this point I hope I can get it returned and get a refund. Not even certain how that will workout yet.
I should have tested it before using it. The worst part was I tried 220F the second time with the kief added in and it’s just cannabis flavored alcohol. I might let it evaporate.
Really? I hope amazon does support the refund. I use amazon a lot and have the prime membership. I always try to find the products they support refund because of fear of what your going through. Im sorry to hear that bud and hopefully your able to get your money back considering they fked up your supply
The item is being discontinued. The seller offer to send me a cheap edioven but I declined. I don’t want anything to so with companies who would sell something like that in the first place.
In reading this thread, I also bought a few items thinking I would use them. These reviews are just to inform others.
I have a Levo I only use for activation. The device is nice enough and has a lot of function, but I just don’t use the other functions. The activation is nice as I can close it and walk away, listen for the chime. But I have a rubber type box with a hole for a temp sensor probe and that works great in the oven but I seem to just go with the Levo.
I have a magic butter machine and it works fine for infusing oils. But, I am going to pick up some nice olive and grape seed oils and just stick a couple of buds to float in it like you see chilis. I am hoping it will look nice and taste good also, and that means not using the machine. But making butter is nice to have around.
I also have what I consider a wonderful device from extractcraft. It basically takes all but about 5-10% of your alcohol wash and recycles it leaving you a very nice clean rosin. This device is amazing and works really well (I have seen bad reviews, maybe I got lucky). It is a smallish reservoir and a lid where you place a dish of ice. This thing runs a vacuum boiling the alcohol until the crucible is left with a thick dark rosin and the reservoir has your alcohol to be used again and again.
This little extractor is going to be used in making lavender extract and others.
I also have two rosin presses (one broke, the other is a Nugsmasher and it works well)
Glad a refund was given, we really take our chances on this new gear. Sometimes the gear is great, sometimes it just works better to do it the old fashioned way. I love hearing about home made or old fashioned - reimagined processes…
I think quality control will be issue for some time. That the price of grey market legality products. Consumer protection is pretty weak in the US even with fully legit stuff. Still market keeps those products in line.
