Seeds placed in seed pods in 10 spot tray with a hood covering all pods.

Do I need the hood?
I keep reading different opinions on light for the germination stage;. Window sill light, indirect room light, lamp light, dark. Which is it?

Yes keep the hood, it keeps the humidity high to speed up germination. Young seedlings need quite moist environments their first weekish of life from seed, @JohnnyPar
