First time grower, everything has been pretty smooth until today. I’m noticing white and brown burn marks on the leaves. I added a half dose of cal/mag today but that’s the only thing new. Started half dose of nutes 4 days ago. Bottom leaves are looking droopy as well. It was 90 yesterday and today with high humidity. Any advice? Thanks!
You might want to water your plant almost daily if your getting that type of weather often, def use cal/mag it’s what plants crave ahaha, I think those 2 issues will help you❤️
Hi @Antipop , yes I think there asking for something to drink, in that weather if give them they’re normal feed and then I check the weight of each pot! After that as soon as I see the top dry I wait till they get lighter and give a Ltr of ph water, your leafs look like they’re drooping for lack of water, so easy to mess up your string and over watering but this way you will always be in control
@Antipop I live in Florida and even with 100+ degree days, the humidity gets so high it’s literally impossible for anything to dry. I hung a wet towel in my open garage for over ten days and it was still damp!
So I’m just guessing the soil may not be drying/evaporating or plant is getting heat stroke and too sick to drink… I’m not really sure. Just know about this 90% RH today
That is why i grow indoors. So i can control weather. They just look they need water and some P K.
Very nice girls btw!
Ok, first off thanks for all the tips. I decided not to water again this morning due to a thunderstom last night where I know they got a little bit of sideways rain/mist (I bring them up to the covered porch each night, too many deer around). I also knew temps were going to be perfect today… When I got home they were so thirsty! I gave some more cal/mag beverage and they are definitely perking up! Still these white spots bother me…
Is not water ph important in outdoor grows?
It’s funny you ask that. I just got a water ph tester and I’m running pretty high from my tap 7.8. Plan on using a drop or two of lemon juice and play around with the numbers in until I can drop it to around 6.5. I also have an outlet from work where i can get a bunch of distilled water and play with that, I could go that route as well.
To be honest I’m at a point where I kind of have an idea whats going on but at the same time feel clueless.
The little specs no one is addressing? Those spots appear to be from some sort of bug. Which stresses your plants out and can make it look like it’s being underwatered.
Get a jewlers loupe and see if u see anything on top of and underneath the leaves.
Even if u see nothing, u appear early enough in flower that you could give her a good spraying of neem oil. Tops and bottoms of leaves, I always try to cove the soil with plastic wrap or something similar to keep the neem oil from dripping into the soil.
Then place her in a bit more of a shaded area and make sure she gets some medium heavy air movement directed on your plants until the leaves are no longer wet.
HTH
Why isn’t cal-mag a part of the fox farm trio nutrient pack or one/all the others out there? I’m noticing how the cal-mag is a must more often than ever. Is there another nutrient that I may be unaware of that’s like the cal-mag but is vital for different attributes of the plants? I suppose another may be the PK 13/14 solution by Canna that’s used for the last few weeks of flowering?
I just realized how I am and need to stop typing
Yes. Do not give her more nuts until ph is normal again. Cuz she will block it, nutrient lockdown. Cannabis only take nuts if ph is between 6.0 and 7.0 more or less. Some strains like more and others less!
I did use the jeweler’s loupe I have and do not see any signs of bugs. The white spots were almost chemical burn looking and are not spreading. I have some AgroMagen Growsafe on the way to be sure.
After lowering the ph of my water and continuing the cal/mag the girls are looking strong. The smaller girl is doing her thing slowly but “Bessie” is still the star.
I have one more question about the next time I feed. I used a half dose of Dr. Earth Flower Girl mix the first feeding. I see most people use a liquid based nutrient mix here. Anyone have any experience with using something like this and how often I should re add some mixture? Thanks as always and happy growing.
Girls look alot better!
About that last question i do not know that dr. Earth flower mix but i always give half or less then the nutrient producer say cuz all they want is sell more . A plant can die with excess of nuts but not with a deficience of.
I have seen alot of good changes since i started to check water ph and ec
I know 1 fertelizent from advanced nutrients that have calmag in his 3 part nutrition. Grow, bloom and micro are a ph perfect 3 parts combined nut that contain all the plants need
The one that contains calcium and mag is Micro
Ok, the white spots are in fact spreading. I looked again with the loupe and I still don’t see bugs, just white burns and now white flakes on some of the leaves. For the life of me I can’t find anything online that matches. I thought maybe wpm but the stuff doesn’t rub off, underside of the plant looks fine… It also seems to be isolated to the one girl. Any ideas outdoor growers?
Maybe i didn’t care as much during the veg but everything is making me paranoid now…My biopesticide is arriving tomorrow as well as some ph down, no more fresh lemon drops! Fingers crossed its not too late. Thanks as always.
