Making your own lights?

Does anyone have any experience with building your own led lights? I have had a curiosity about it for awhile and might want to try my hand at it if it’s worth it vs buying a name brand

I

I did some work in some kitchen remodels using these LED light boards to light up the backsplash and island. These are scrap pieces. You can buy different spectrums. They are very bright they can light up a piece of 7/8” thick quartz. They will work of 12 or 24 volt transformer. You can cut them into various shapes and sizes. Best to get a driver. You can’t get them wet though, but if you use a piece of plexiglass on the light side and a thin piece of wood on the other side with a piece of aluminum u channel around the edges. I do believe you can use them as a grow light and do it cheaply especially if you can get a hold of reminent pieces from someone or if you do that kind of work yourself. You could probably buy some used lights on Craigslist on the cheap.

Thank you for your info!! And I’ve checked Craigslist, there’s nothing more than like lights for indoor tropical plants, 35w type of things within a two hour driving distance.

Lets see:strawberry: From using a lcd tv backlight to wiring 2 24watt spots on a 12 volt car battery with a 12 volt transformer :hear_no_evil_monkey: yep’

Ive done lotz of creative worx’

Best advice :
:sweat_droplets:Watch for humidity.
:high_voltage:Ensure constant voltage.
:beach_with_umbrella:Put da switches in comfy ez to reach spots
:heavy_dollar_sign::money_bag:Materials add up, it may be cheaper to buy products

Lets say, a build requires a sodering iron a chaulk gun and a pane of glass
