Miracle grow opinions needed

I just mixed a ton of miracle grow and ffof equal parts for my next grow and started reading that miracle grow is bad for the flowering stage in weed plants. Any opinions, suggestions, or resolutions?

Use it for my veggies but not for my weed man.

I say give it a shot and see. I know plenty of people that are using mg today. Go on YouTube and check out cannabis 3.0

Thanks y’all! I guess I’m stuck running this batch as is and will make adjustments and not use it on my next!

It’s all about learning. Old school growers used mg for along time, nothing else out there. It just runs hot, so always be careful using.

Good point. I’m going to try the Strive nutes this grow over the fox farm I used last time. They seem more mellow so hopefully that helps!

The problem with MG is it’s slow release. You have to prepare your soil a ways in advance before you use it if your going with mg. Mg will work just fine but you have some work to do before it’s ready to use.

I mixed it half and half with ffof and added a little bit of a more dense and shitty soil to give it some weight. I also added some pumice. I wasn’t aware of the MG problems when I prepped my soil so it is what it is on this grow unfortunately. Another lesson learned!

Biggest problem with MiracleGro is its toxic. They contain copper sulfate a chemical pesticide, high salt concentration & the pesticides/fungicides kill any beneficial microorganisms in the soil right off rip.

Next issue is its definitely not good for Cannabis. MiracleGro contains time-release fertilizer which means no matter what you do, no matter how much you flush those nutrients are going to continue to release still. You ever see those green balls? Yeah no bueno. See this is okay during veg but becomes a problem in flower as plants dont use nearly as much Nitrogen in flower as they do veg. Plants need more P&K in flower not Nitrogen. Since MG is high in Nitrogen and has time-release this can result in Nitrogen Toxicity where the leaves will become single bladed leaves, turn dark green & get the classic “clawing” of the leaves. And you cant stop it.

Once Nitrogen Toxicity takes affect its hard to reverse, and the plant suffers, stems get weak, plant is much more prone to disease, buds end up fluffy, yield is decreased dramatically and ends up with crop that will taste like grass due to excess chlorophyll from the excess Nitrogen the plant received during flower. You dont have control of the plants nutrients like you think.

The hotness from soil is due to the high salt concentration. Salts build up over time and begins locking out nutrients actually depriving the plant.

This is why I steer clear of any MiracleGro products wouldnt even grow vegetables or fruits in it.
