I just wanted to introduce myself hello I’m SDgrower13 and I just planted 3 photo Feminized seeds in 1gal pots, 2 wedding cake by growers choice seeds, and 1 booberry cookies by ethos! They are around 4 weeks right now looking healthy! I’m using a Grower’s choice RIO-E680S led light in a 5x5 tent, this is the very first grow I have ever done I’ve never grown anything in my life to be honest! I’ve tried to follow the advice of a local grow shop up to this point and everything has gone smooth plants are looking great but I figured this community might be a little easier for me to get advice or share things to help other newbies as well!
Off to a great start. Keep us posted
Hi @SDgrower13 welcome to the community.
Try to describe your complete set. Land, pots, light, ventilation, temperature, nutrients and all the useful information you can provide.
For now they look healthy. How are you going to grow them? I think a little LST would be good.

Welcome to the community @SDgrower13 happy growing! You’re off to a great start, your ladies are looking great.
Looking great and welcome! Happy growing!
I’m using Fox Farm ocean forest soil 1 gallon pots watering with just water, my grow light is about 30 in from the top of my canopy right now the light intensity is at 75% I will go 100% on the light more towards the flower stage!, my grow tent temperature is around 75 to 80° throughout the day and at night it gets around 70 my humidity I try to keep around 50% or a little lower between 40 and 50% and my VPD range right now is around 1.3 VPD I’m using the AC Infinity controller with the AC Infinity carbon filter and inline fan vented to a window! Also have an AC Infinity Auto oscillating fan clipped to a pole in the corner of my grow tent also run an air purifier in the tent as well! Once again this is all new to me so if you have any suggestions or things I need to change please let me know I’m open to suggestions and learning as much as I can!
Welcome to the group SDgrower13 looking great.
I really need to figure out the best way to do LST on these plants it’s my first grow and I tried two different times to do LST and I got nervous and ended up taking the ties off the plant the only thing I have done is a little bit of pruning to allow the lower canopy to get more light! Any help or tips on LST would be great! I keep second guessing myself every time I go to do LST and I end up just leaving them! I’m eager and willing to do LST but I keep talking myself out of it because I’m not for sure if I’m doing it right! And I’ve referenced videos on YouTube different blogs on LST and still don’t know exactly the best way to do it!
Thanks blazedpug!
Hi @SDgrower13 how did you LST? Even I didn’t know how to do it, I saw all kinds of tutorials. Then in the end the key word of the whole speech is this: reduce the “domain of the main peak”. Why grow just one top when, by lowering the main one, I can get many tops of the same height, of the same size and above all from the same plant?
Then at first I used wire to lower the top, when the plant is small and easy to bend. The main summit will always tend to rise more than the others. I pull her down again, then again, then again, until the buds below are as big as the main cola.
Then I put the net which basically helps you distribute all the buds in the growing area. Once you have placed the net you will understand how to behave. Always keep apical dominance in mind.
I think your humidity needs to be kicked up a little bit. It a will help drop your vpd down. Thats late flower vpd range.
@lin_diesel thank you I will do that like 60%?
@Maro thank you for explaining that the way you did I really appreciate that! I think I did it correctly I bent the tops over on all three plants and tied them down!
70% or more…how old are the plants?
@lin_diesel They are around 4 weeks! And ok ill crank up the humidifier!
Very well, you will see that step by step you will know what to do. Remember that the lower shoots, those that do not get light, are pruned as well as the leaves not exposed to light. All for the benefit of the higher gems. For now the humidity is fine around 70%. When you go into flowering you go down to 35-45% always with circulating air and air exchange. If you are outdoors obviously you are at the mercy of the weather. Good luck and update us.
@Maro thanks again for all the good information I really appreciate the help and info! And I went in the tent this morning and they are almost standing straight back up again so I will keep tying them down until the other stuff catches up!
Your little girl needs attention and lots of love. You will see that she will give you a bountiful harvest in return.
