Hi guys.
im overwhelmed with all the information available these days. For a newbie like me, some symphtoms might look the same but what really causes them are the very opposite.
I’m using a 600 w led (egrowth brand) , I know it’s now the best, but because ng my first attempt I’m fine with that.
As you can see tips seems burned.
I thought about nutrients burn (maybe cause by hot soil as I haven’t used much fertilizer) , but I’m not sure.
Could it be a sign of light stress? I have moved the lights a little higher and now it’s like 3 feet’s away from the top.
I really appreciate your help on this
Also if you have some.information about the sex of this specimen it would be much appreciated, this is a regular seed.
I can see pistols present so it ls a female ( or early stage hermie), but theres something strange with it also at that height you should have 5 to 7 fingers on the new growth. Was it a bag seed you found rolling one? Was it good stinky bud or some low smell fluffy buds?
hi mike.
this seed came from a bud, i guess most likely it was Og kush but im not sure.
it started with natural light for the first month and then i moved it to my indoor which is brand new.
this is the only regular seed i have , so if getting rid of this plant so whatever reason is a must , i will , as i dont want to compromise the other plants.
lights are 20x4, as most of my plants are auto.
could that be a problem? i know the most suggestes approach for photoperiodic is 18x6.
about watering regime, im trying to water as little as possible . im aware that over watering is very common for newbies like me so …
nutrients… the soil might be hot as ive used compost but i have used nutrients just once, with less than the suggested concentration.
i do have one issue with this plant, is that i have some little flies near, mostly on the dirt, so ive sprayed neem on it but still nothing happened. could that affect the pistils?
also ive noticed yestersay a tiny white dot moving, so i may have an issue there.(mite broad??)
my main concern is thwt i dont want to compromoise my other plants which some are auto and some fem photoperidc, but of course ill try to save it if possible.
With all that info my best guess would be a bad seed, it looks like its genes are just too weak. if the others are doing well and no diseases are present id imagine you could use insecticidal soap for the bugs and hope for the best. and with the leaf tips burned id assume nutrient burn, im still pretty new myself but the genetics of that plant just don’t look too great. Having autos In the same room on 20/4 lighting isn’t a issue. photo period plants do fine on that light cycle too. I say give it a go with ridding of the bugs and see what happens, it may also beef up the size of the plant to top it to get it a little wider and promote branches to fan out. best of luck brother
Hi @zavulon, Welcome to the Community!
The led light at 3 feet it’s fat from the plant, if you have been keeping the light at that distance for a while, it could be an access of nutrients.
The plant is definitely a female
Being auto 20x4 of light exposure is fine, they can definitely take it and more too.
The soil being hot can end up burning the roots and one of the visible spots it is the tips of the leaves.
About the white dots moving, you can remove it from all the leaves and stems by using el wet cotton (just water), and clean every leave above and under. Do a cleaning every two days and see how it progress.
What’s your indoor like? Do you have fans? No airflow could be a thing in this case.
thanks nico.
BTW i have an issue with one of the autos. It has the same conditions, soil, and water regime as the others, but this one is not growing, and not even looks like weed…
i feel its about to die, but will do my best to save her. Any ideas?
Temp is around 25c and humidity is at 60%
Its definetly cannabis lol. It looks like overwatering to me, how much and how often are you watering? about 1/2 cup at a time poured around the base of the stalk should be enough for the day
Thanks Mike. If you think it might be over watering I will reduce the amount of it. The strange thing is that she has 3 sisters, under very similar circumstances (watering included) but the other 3 are in a completely different shape.
Being an auto, I don’t have much faith on it, but I will try to save her if possible.
Is there anything else I can do to improve her recovery, or even save it?
Cheers
Super thrive has been my secret weapon and have had great results from it. I had a male plant that I removed from my grow space and as an experiment I cut all but 1 inch of its roots off (2 foot tall plant) and threw it in plain ass dirt and watered it with 1/2 capfull of superthrive to 1 gallon of water and 7 or so days later it stood back up straight and grew another foot or so before I killed it off before it pollinated
