Do you feed your plants right up to harvest? Or do you quit feeding a few weeks prior to harvesting?
A lot of people will swear by flushing, that is what you are describing.
There are dissenting voices, however, that have performed testing and found that flushing doesn’t give a benefit:
Personally I am trying it both ways to see which I prefer and then use what I like.
I usually stop a week or so before harvest, as well as I stop even feeding water for a few days.
Makes the drying process easier.
Oh, I also leave them in the dark for a couple of days.
The drying is better without water in the last few days, the rest like @Uthon said it’s up for the taking.
It’s part of the fun, experiment. If you have multiple plants, treat them differently and try to spot differences.
I flush all my plants, the last one or two feedings are just water. I’ve noticed a difference in smell and flavour.
I had plants that I wasn’t paying too much attention and ended up up cutting with no flushing, I could tell the difference.
I’ve heard to flush and not to flush. First grow was outdoor over the summer and stopped adding any nutrients the last 3 weeks.
