Outdoor autos

I always hated the idea of flushing. In nature they don’t get flushed, their fungal network is vast and they get nutes till the day they die. Once I saw studies that even synthetic nutes are never able to be stored in the bud cells themselves it was a no brainer. I do organic for the most part now and re-use all my soil so whatever the plant leaves is used by the next one. Glad you at least found it interesting and hopefully gives you the confidence to do your own thing. Happy growing friend!

I’ve given up on flushing too. I’ll be honest I haven’t noticed a difference in the end result.

God I love this app. My thought process was to not flush but everything I read said to flush. Fuck that, no more flushing for me, not even the toilet

This is my quick one auto grown outside. 68 days old these pics are from harvest day. Just over 26ā€ tall. small but I’m proud of her. It’s my first grow also. Can’t wait to try her out!

Beautiful plant! How much did you get off that? I have a feeling mine will end up similar to that!

I have it drying as a whole plant. So Idk the yield yet. I’m thinking close to an ounce at least visually. Buds are pretty tight so I’m keeping my fingers crossed.

Hell yeah congrats man! I have a batch of six plants going and 4 are rqs autos; quick one, watermelon, bubble Kush, and Royal gorilla. I also have a random truffles seed and a rqs critical going. I’m thinking I’ll hopefully get a half lb of some good stuff off this batch. I don’t even smoke and am completely hooked. I’ll occasionally take a hit but am growing for my mom lol

Also learned how to amend and reuse my soil from this app so am currently using ocean forest and sta green with pumice and perlite and will add one bag of happy frog, homemade compost, build a soil craft blend and whatever else to reuse this soil and save some money on my next grow. It’s amazing how complex growing can get which is why I’m so hooked. I love the challenge

Yeah, autoflowers go into preflower just a couple-few weeks after sprouting. The general consensus that I’ve gathered is that you really don’t want to Top an autoflower plant. That being said, I have done it a few times with rather disappointing results. Very often the plant will simply ignore that it’s been Topped and just keep growing as a maimed plant. It’s really up to the grower’s preference, but if you do choose to try it, I would only try it on one or two plants instead of doing it to all every plant that you’re growing.

As far as Nutrition, I like to use a light-feeding planting soil like FoxFarm’s HappyFrog for planting pre-sprouted seeds into solo cups. Once I see the autos go into preflower, I transplant them into their final pot (3gal is fine cuz they only get 1.5-2.5 foot tall). I either use a premixed potting soil that’s blended for cannabis such as SOHUM, this method is good for beginners, or I will use Green Gaia 4-4-4 during the preflower stage. Once there is no more vertical growth at the tips of the plant and flowers are clearly forming, I will add a topdressing of Green Gaia 2-8-4, which will be enough to end of life.

It’s fall season. In fall days are shorter triggering flower. In fall best to grow in tent.

Get a jewelers loupe. Clear tricomes too soon. Cloudy, not all time to flush and harvest.

Same here. Next grow will time harvest before heat hits.

I thought autos don’t flower based off time of light though?

You’re right they don’t start flowering based off periods of light and dark like photos but they need a consistent amount of light to get the best out of them. I usually run them on a 20:4 schedule but I think it’s minimum 18:6 - someone shout if that’s wrong

I’ve read articles saying you can run lights for autos…24-0 , 20-4 , 18-6 or even 12-12. Me personally I chose the 18-6 schedule and it’s doing great with that:

I would suggest either 20/4 or 18/6. All living things need rest so you don’t want to run 24/0 and 12/12 isn’t enough light for them to grow the way you would want. I don’t have a lot of experience with autos but did a fair amount of research when I was growing my one and probably only auto. Happy growing

I’ll let you guys know how mine go. Being outdoors I don’t have control on light. Recently I’ve seen them hit a growth spurt tho so hopefully that continues

All living things except the autoflower gene. They grow in a part of the world that gets 24/0 during its life span.

I hope mine do okay. They’re outdoors and get direct southern exposure but nothing close to that. Thankfully I’m happy with whatever I get

They are OK with less but thrive with as much as you can give. Only reason I ever cut back is if my solar battery bank is running low otherwise they get 24/0
