What’s your pH going in and coming out?
It might be due to genetics. Last year, I had 3 plants of the same strain and all of them had 4-finger leaves.
I’m not yet checking the water pH, but I rarely use tap water; I mostly use mineral water, but also tap water.
This one I have is a Purple Lemon, I’m testing it out, and it’
What kinda soil is that? I feel like I’ve had seedlings do this when I use shitty soil with poor drainage
This soil was one I bought here in my city. When I repot, it will be a better soil.
Did it top itself? If not the stress of topping so early could have caused the funky looking leaves. It could also be the genetics or several other reasons. Usually stress will show through the leaves either by shape and/or number of leaves. Good luck. It seems to be rebounding nicely.
Yes, I recently pruned it at 25 days, it already had 4/5 nodes, I hope it’s just pruning stress and that it recovers soon.
Hi @Kalli ![]()
,
Yes, this is not an unknown problem.
As already mentioned, it could be due to poor drainage. Or, what I would bet on, is that you watered again after pruning. I even think you probably gave it the exact amount of water it usually got.![]()
This led to it being overwatered at least once, which then caused nutrient lockout. As a result, the leaves are barely getting any nutrients and are curling up as if dying. ![]()
After topping at such an early stage, you should extend the watering schedule a bit or halve the amount of water for the first 1-2 waterings. ![]()
That always works best for me. ![]()
How does the little one look now? Do you perhaps have a current picture?

Hi @Kalli

Yes, well, look at that. She’s slowly coming back.
Very nice!! ![]()
I would still be cautious with watering next week. That should be enough.
Unfortunately, the bent leaves are not due to light stress but are still after-effects of too much water.
Yes, they are still partially active.
(which you urgently need in this phase)
But as soon as twice as much healthy foliage is present, I would simply remove them.
From my perspective, you are already on the right track! Best of luck going forward. ![]()
