Hello Marie! Welcome back to the Community!

In addition to neem oil, you can protect your outdoor plants from bugs with:

  1. Beneficial Insects: Introduce ladybugs, lacewings, and predatory mites that naturally control pests.
  2. Diatomaceous Earth: Sprinkle around the base of the plants; it’s effective against crawling insects.
  3. Insecticidal Soap: Ideal for targeting soft-bodied insects like aphids and mites.
  4. Companion Planting: Herbs like basil, marigold, or mint can repel many common pests.
  5. Mesh or Row Covers: Physical barriers that keep larger insects away while allowing light and water to pass through.

Application Frequency: The success of preventive treatments lies in consistency. Apply neem oil and other products regularly, usually every 7-14 days, to maintain continuous protection. Also, frequently inspect the plants to adjust the frequency based on pest presence.

This combined approach, along with regular applications, will ensure strong defense against outdoor pests.

Happy Growing!
