Is my plant supposed to look like this? Is this genetics?
This is too extreme of a case to be just genetics, this plant is exhibiting discoloration from stress. Iām too much of a novice to personally know exactly which stresses cause this exact form and intensity of discoloration though, apologies mate.
Thanks for your input anyways
Did you recently transplant or do anything to cause stress?
Usually red stems like that is too much potassium. Think of potassium is the nutrient that helps build the plants defense system to be resistent to pest and disease. Phosphorus boosts flowering and Nitrogen veg. I threw these in to maybe help you narrow things down. But as above said extremse stress can cause purpling in the stems as well.
Light intensity is another reason a cannabis plant may display red or purple stems. When a stem is exposed to direct, intense light, it may develop red or purple pigmentation. If light intensity is the cause, the stems that are lower on the plant (farther from the light source) will usually appear greener.
I just transplanted it but it was this color before I did the transplant
Over watering is my guess had the same exact problem a few years back. Hope this helps.
