Recipies for gummies?

@Bentgenetics said that they make bubble hash with the trim. That way you don’t get the grass taste in the edibles.

Do you know any other way to make gummies?

Hi @ELI no, I’ve never made edibles before but if anybody has a recipe, I’d love to see it. Particularly interested to do it with the OGK CBD to see if it helps with sleep and reducing inflammation of the joints. Thanks for opening this thread. :heart::+1:t3:

Here’s a couple:

Gummies
Ingredients:

  • 4 packs of unflavored gelatin
  • 3 oz pack of flavored jello
  • 1 cup juice (match flavor)
  • 1 teaspoon lecithin (sunflower/ soy)
  • 1/2 teaspoon of potassium sorbate
  • 1/2 cup cannaoil
  1. pour 1/2 cup of juice in a bowl with your unflavored gelatin. let bloom.
  2. mix the other 1/2 cup of juice, oil and lecithin in a pot on low. whisk until combined.
  3. add your flavored gelatin and your bloomed unflavored gelatin into the pot. mix until completely homogenized.
  4. add potassium sorbate. mix until dissolved.
  5. pour mix into molds. let set for 4-6 hours.
  6. pull out of molds and air dry for 1-3 days.

Gummy ingredients: 1-2 ml for beginners and 3-5 ml for advanced users of FECO or a few grams of Kief decarbed, depending on strength you want (2-4 grams of kief) 1ml is around 10mg per gummy for 75 servings. 2 ml is 20mg per gummy for 75 servings and so on. 8 ounce sugar + 2 ounces for extra sweet 8 ounce corn syrup 6 ounce water or Juice (recommended) ex. Hawaiian Punch 38 grams Knox gelatin 3 ounces of flavored gelatin like jolly rancher jello or starburst jello Lorann oils (found on Amazon) 1 tsp or entire dram Sunflower Lecithin - optional Food color if you want extra coloring Need a double boiler for making them or just a pot and a glass bowl that can fit over the pot.

  1. Fill 1/4th to half the pot with water and bring it to a boil

  2. While pot is coming to boil combine your liquid with Knox gelatin in the glass bowl/double boiler and mix it for 20 seconds then let it sit for 5 minutes so it blooms

  3. Once the water is boiling turn it down to medium and put the bloomed liquid and gelatin over the boiling water

  4. Mix it a bit and let it heat so it melts the bloomed gelatin and liquid then add sugar, corn syrup, sorbitol, and jello. Then mix it until it’s dissolved, make sure it’s mixed thoroughly, should take around 5-10 minutes

  5. Then lower the heat and add the FECO / decarbed kief. If it is decarbed kief mix it with a carrier oil such as coconut oil or MCT OIL (recommended) then add it to pot. I usually use like 1-2 oz for little kief and 2-4 for more kief.

You may add your sunflower lecithin here if being used as well.

  1. Then mix for 2-3 minutes, turn the heat off and add the coloring (optional) + flavoring (Lorann oils) (not optional) unless you don’t care about flavor

  2. Then pour into your desired molds and let them sit in fridge 24 hours. After 24 hours take them out and pop out all gummies out of the molds and put them on parchment paper. Stand the gummies up and let them sit like that for 48 hours then lay them down for another 24 hours and they’re done! You can throw them in a ziploc bag with sugar if you want a sugar coating, if not, you’re done.

  4. If using kief your thc percentages vary from 40-70%, put that in the calculator for thc percentage based on the quality of your kief.

1-2 ml of FECO will make ~ 80 gummies at 10-20mg 3-5 ml of FECO will make ~ 80 gummies at 30-40mg

One of the problems is keeping it mixed well. When i was using coconut oil i infused, it just wouldn’t combine with the water well. Even with the lecithin. There is alot of technique and experience with how its heated and mixed. It just kept trying to separate. Ended up with rubber bottom, liquid oily tops.

After a few batches they got better and better. But, overall i wasn’t impressed. Decided brownies was much easier.

I can’t use coconut oil, wife is allergic. So of course everything has it :joy:

Did you try using a handheld blender? It’s the best way to emulsify an oil/water mix.

My whole last grow i turned into oils. I made coconut oil and a mixed blended oil. You dont have to use coconut. Grab a olive oil or a sunflower oil. The more fat the better it holds the cannabis within.

They have some neat molds too. If you search molds for gummies you get different Items, then searching for mold for cannabis gummies.
