I usually use rockwool cubes and my success rate with different brands is at least 80%. I also try to keep the cubes during germination around 25°C and always wet but well drained…
I use rockwool cubes 4x4x4. But I am not using the ready made hole for the cuttings. I turn the cubes around, make my own hole not even 1cm deep and I put the seed. I close the whole by slightly pushing the wool. Wet and warm for the first days, after germination a little dryer…
Thanks for the feedback. I did some research and realised i was not paying attention enough to tap root direction and what to co with “C”-shaped germinators.
Hello stoner friend! Well, as a technique to germinate the seeds I buy, whether autoflowering, feminine or regular, I use the glass of water method.
Water beaker method
Possibly one of the most effective and viable methods. It is extremely simple, so novices could choose to germinate their seeds in a glass of water. Half fill a glass or bowl with water at a temperature of approximately 22°C.
After about 3-5 days , the seeds will begin to open and you will see tiny white tips appear. When these roots are 1 or 2cm long , transfer the seeds very carefully to pots with already prepared soil.
These pots should have small holes (about 10-15mm deep) to put the newly germinated seeds in. When the seeds are secure, place a fluorescent lamp about 13-15cm away in order to stimulate their growth. Lastly, do not overwater the seeds at this stage. Use a spray bottle to make sure they are moist but not soggy.
In addition, the glasses of water for the seeds, I usually put it inside a greenhouse for cuttings with a heating blanket and once the lid is on and the blanket is plugged in to heat it, I usually cover it with a black towel so that they are in total darkness 24 hours a day and with heat of 22°C and with that method I have 90% germination guaranteed.
I do the same, seeds straight into soil in small biodegradable pots. Beforehand i make air holes in the bottom and sides to about half way up the pot.
I then put the little pots into a bigger pot (fit 5-6 little pots in) witch is lined with plastic bag and piece of cardboard in the bottom that i keep wet. Once all pots are inside i have another piece of cardboard with a central circle window that i made for the lid.
I then place the big pot in to position just sat above a tube heater that heats up the pot then makes the bottom wet piece of cardboard warm and creates humidity. I then check every few days on progress once im happy il make the air holes bigger and cut the bottom out completely and plant into final pot and Iv had no problems with germinating seeds so far.
It could be anything, don’t stress it. I am on my 2nd plant. This one I started from seed from seeds found in an old basement 4 years ago. The White OG. I did 4 seeds on top of a damp papertowel and placed another damp paper towel on top. I put it in a cabinet in my laundry room for 2 days. Dryer keeps it warm in there. 3/4 sprouted. 2/4 made it to seedling and now I have 1 beautifully flourishing young vegitative state.
Cheers. I’m just checking as i am calculating all my costs in production per gram. It helps when I explain to my wife I can grow 2kgs of organic buds from an 8€ seed plus nutrients, soil, test equipment… It is still an easy sell right when i can grow 10k worth of weed from one seed. It is empowering as a consumer to be in control like my own vegetable garden is for food on the table. Who knows maybe one day Spain will follow Germany. I was there in late 2018 and never would have thought they would have gone full rec adult but here we are. And Spain is constitutionally closer to legalisation than Germany ever was, Berlin outstanding, much like Barcelona or the Basque. Whoah, okay, this sour mango makes me typative, lo siento.
Super excited right now this plant was started from seed and it is my first ever mother plant I have cut some clones and now I’m left with this I have not been educated on trimming trimming to much but I did my best
If you’re keeping your first mother I’d suggest researching nutrients for mothers. If you cut back on nitrogen and potassium from a standard veg formula the plants will store more carbs in the leaves and this will fuel root growth for the cuttings. Helps the success rate and viability of the clones.
BAC has a specific clone formula that some growers i know swear by.
But frogyrogy is spot on about hacking the plant’s survival instincts by manipulating the nutrition carefully. Think of her more as YOUR queen, not mother, and treat her thusly.
