Microscope or jewelers loupe is the best way to tell.

what strain is it? if you don’t have a way to magnify the trichomes you can get an idea from the breeder - most strains are say 8-10 weeks of flowering so you would be about halfway.
but if its a haze or something it could take much longer, so find that out first.
you can also use the pistils as a guide - when they are 90% brown and turned back to the bud you are nearly there.
but tbh, by far is best to get a magnifying device, like a loupe or usb microscope for like 10-20 bucks.
or just wing it and note how it smokes. if its an amphetamine-like high, you chopped a bit early. if it puts you in a coma, a bit late.

She will almost double in size if you wait at least three more weeks and fill out you will have a smoke that will resemble hay
