Still about 4 weeks from harvest but looking happy!
Even though I’m only at 5 weeks into flower, I’m quite surprised to see some trichomes verging on milky. Is this normal this early? I’m also intrigued by the spider-web wavy lines that can be seen on both photos but especially on the 2nd one. Any ideas anyone?
Only thing I see that doesn’t belong is what looks like pet hair . . .
I agree but it is in a sealed grow tent in a sealed bedroom and only opened when I’m in for daily checkups so no way the cat could be in there unless they are air-carried, which also seems unlikely.
It could easily come in attached to you. Im occasionally finding dog hair on my plants from the dog that never goes near the tent.
Same and I only go in the tent after I shower, but it still happens.
I agree with you guys re the cat hairs. British Short Hairs do moult a lot at this time of the year and the hairs get everywhere. Any thoughts on the milkyish trichomes this early?
I’m now at 6 weeks since flip and am wondering how far from harvest I could be. When I look through a jeweller’s loupe I’m not sure if my trichomes are milky yet or not. I would welcome your thoughts on how far along you think she is as Northern Lights photo should need 8-10 weeks in flower according to RQS spec…
Looks great! I’d start checking the trichomes daily in a week or two
Thanks MJ. Will do
Beautiful looking plant. 6 weeks probably a little to soon still and most likely about to hit its maturing stage with the trichomes. I also used a jewelers loupe for awhile and agree can be tricky alot so i def understand where your coming from lol. For me i went with amber color more over milky/clear because of the hard time determining and i went about 20% (what was in view) or close to and then chopped. Wasnt to much to where thc started degrading heavily and was enough to really see the milkyness in buds. But id say around next week or two you should be ready to go
Thanks a lot Smokey. It’s good to know it’s not just me who’s not sure. I’ll follow your and MJ’s advice and keep a close eye over the next 2 weeks. I know Jamon suggested buying a usb scope but I’m loathe to spend more as a one-plant grower. I’ll persevere with the loupe and the mobile phone.
I use a loupe, I hates the USB microscope unless you cut a piece of bud off to use the microscope. It is hard to determine sometimes with a loupe. The more I use it the better I’ve become.
I found getting pics like this hard with my camera and a loupe.
It’s also hard to get steady pics with the microscope unless you cup both hand around the bud, only touching sugar leaves.
Thanks Jamon. Seeing your pics and reading websites it’s clear that a microscope will give much better pics if used right but they can be challenging. Like Blunt, I think I’ll persevere with the loupe for simplicity as I only need it to decide when to chop.
