Im planning to get some better ventilation but want to think future based. Is it possible to combine different Brands for fan, lights, humidifier, dehumidifier and having a smart controller that i can program and use with my phone? I first wanted to an ACI A8 till i saw a video to conclude that these are actually loud. If it was me , i would go for a rhino ultra silence but how to combine or integrate these in a smart setup?
Look at Trolmaster . . . probably the best and most versatile grow room controllers out there. High dollar equipment, not cheap like the AC Infinity controllers (not talking unit quality, or functional comparison . . . just cost), the HCS-2 runs over $1000 with a 4 in 1 sensor.
I run ACI controllers and use the control plug on some stuff, but it’s off and on, no speed control . . . the Trolmaster can do both through sensors and control modules
The ac infinity system is pretty universal. They have all kinds of different adapters and whatnot to make it work. It’s the only one I’ve ever had so can’t say it’s better or worse than others but I really like it
Thanks for the answer i hoped for.
So hooking up the dehumidifier from spider farmer to the ACI 69 will be no problem? The ones from ACI are not findable in europe.
You know a good marketplace where u can sometimes find nice second hand grow equipment?
And what would u recommend for a grow cam? AcI has none yet. The one from spider farmer looks nice
Thank u for the tip, but sounds a big expensive hastle so i second the other answer
The only catch with the uis plug is it only gives you the option to turn on or off through the controller and app. Dehumidifier for example can be told to switch on by the controller but you can’t adjust its settings without going to the Dehumidifier itself and adjusting from there so it doesn’t make it a hands off thing if settings need to change. If you can find a batch of settings where everything maintains a sweet spot then they would be great.
true. It has to be a dehumidifier that only turns on and off, not automatically like most of them
That was the thing i wondered the most.
U mention only on off. But i read that with the type a cable it is possible to change the brightness of third party grow lights so wondering if the same goes for third party fans and other equipment like humidifiers, camera’s, watering systems?
Yes the lighting adapters do let you control the lights properly from the controller/app but lights are the only thing that has proper functionality when hooked up that way, the rest through the uis plugs must be programmed manually and then can be switched on/off through the app
For my setup, I only have the lights and exhaust hooked to the controller. My fans stay on 24/7 and my dehumidifier is outside the tent and is programmable so is set to 40 rh, although my tent averages about 55 rh right now and I’m about to harvest so there’s a lot of plant in there. It really just depends on your setup, what you’re comfortable with, and what’s available in your area. There’s no wrong way. I cherry picked things that people on here recommended to build my setup in my own unique way. You’ll figure it out and good on you for thinking ahead!
Then im wondering what the point is of having a fancy controller hanging on your tent but different Brands equipment that can only turned on and off.
I assume that u cant even control temperature / fan speed of third party on the controller itself?
You can control the schedule and the triggers. For example, you can have controller kick on the dehu if it gets above 60 rh during lights on and 50 rh during lights off
I only have my light and exhaust fan hooked to it and that alone is worth it for me. I can adjust the environment and schedule from my phone and also keep an eye on the tent and see if something is off even if I’m not home
Very curious!
But thats for later.
Im now having amnesia haze vegging, for 30 days.
Newbie i am, topped to early and it seems permanently stunned. Leaves are very small. Though its bushy.
Wondering if its still worthy and at a sudden point recover from the stun after all?
If it is a photoperiod I would let it grow out for the experience if nothing else.
Its indeed a photoperiod.
Though im curious whats behind it sciencetificly that makes it beyond repairable, even after some time.
Leaves are getting smaller by the day ![]()
Ill speak from MY experience on the ac infinity controller and plugs. i use 3 of them.
I have the 69 pro controller with a inline fan connected with uis. Was the kit on Amazon or the website. (This was bought like 2 years ago)
I have day time settings and night time settings.
I use the plug adaptor for my light that isn’t AC Infinity. I just set the intensity % on the light itself and the app is programmed to turn on and off the light in the app.
My humidifier is also on a AC Infinity plug adapter. Its got to be a humidifier that can be turned back on (on its own) without hitting a button to turn on after its lost power. Like a knob dial that is set in the on position. I have the controller programmed to cut on and off based on the settings i have set within the app. Day and night settings.
I dont have it any longer since I just moved my grow inside the house…. But, before I had a heater I also put on a AC Infinity plug adapter. Same thing with the settings and such as the humidifier. Day and night settings.
Plugs are kinda nice. But, i wouldn’t put anything that draws alot of power on them. My light is only like 250 watts. And I had my heater on a lower setting. I already had these items before I got the controller. And I didn’t want to have to rebuy these items in the AC infinity family brand. AC Infinity is also expensive.
Overall, it works decently. But. Depending on the budget it could be better. If you have any questions. I’d be glad to answer if I can.
