Brown spots on Maria leaves

Identification of the causes of brown spots on marijuana leaves.

Brown spots on marijuana leaves can be caused by a variety of factors, including ozone exposure, lack of essential nutrients, extremely high temperature, overly acidic pH, and fungal infection such as downy mildew. Knowing the causes behind brown spots is essential to effectively prevent and treat these problems in marijuana cultivation.

Issues:

  • Phosphorus, calcium or magnesium deficiencies : Plants need a greater amount of these nutrients during the flowering phase for the creation of buds, which can result in brown spots on the leaves.
  • Excessive temperature : Leaves may burn and show brown spots due to extremely high temperatures.
  • Ozone exposure: Ozone generators are useful for neutralizing odor, but it is important to avoid direct contact with plants, as they can burn them and destroy the crop.
  • Too acidic pH : When the pH level is above 8, the leaves may turn brown.
  • Mildew : This fungus may appear as whitish spots at first, but over time they can turn brown and spread quickly, which can be harmful to the crop.
  • Generally, ozone burn occurs when there is an anti-odor system that generates ozone in the crop. It does not always happen, but if there is any irregularity with this system it can facilitate the exit and release of ozone together with the expelled air , which can be extremely serious for our marijuana.
  • When it is due to a deficiency of nutrients such as calcium or potassium, we will see very asymmetrical and larger spots that can be very striking, unlike those created by red spiders , which are more like brown welts that are usually on the underside of the skin. the leaf and are extremely small, to the point that it may be necessary to use a magnifying glass.

This type of stain can have several meanings , which is why we must pay special care, because it suggests the presence of a pest such as red spider, a nutrient deficiency or ozone burn. All situations are serious, so if you see brown spots on the leaves of your Cannabis, you need to get to work to eliminate them

Solution :

The solution depends on the underlying cause of the brown spots . It is important to carefully monitor the crop, including monitoring temperature, pH and nutrient levels, and take measures to prevent and treat fungal infection.

  1. Once we have identified the problem, we can add products that fit our requirement. For example, if it is due to a lack of nutrients, it will only be enough to apply a fertilizer that provides enough calcium and potassium to restore a healthy appearance to our plant. Take a look at the blog deficiencies and excesses in marijuana for a broader concept.
  2. If, on the other hand, it is a pest like the red spider, you must buy phytosanitary products that facilitate its immediate eradication and start a biological fight with other insects that can be favorable for cannabis and harmful for the red spider.
  3. In case of ozone burns we will have to carefully check the equipment pipes and try to cover any ozone leaks inside the crop.

TLDR: most likely calcium bro.

Are you checking your ph of your nute solution? If not start doing so, it must be above 6.2 in soil.

Or, if ph is good, just add some calmag.

Thank you! Always good with others expertis
My tapwaters ph is 9.18 without nutrition and around 6.5 after i put in the nutrition…

Do not have calmag BUT i crushed 10 egg shells with wormcasting and gave her … :slightly_smiling_face:

Thanks m8!

No worries. Just an fyi tho, using ground organic matter will take time to break down (up to 2 weeks) in the soil and become available to the plant.

When you see deficiencies, the plant needs the nutrition immediately, otherwise it will get worse.

For that reason, I would highly suggest some calmag in synthetic form (not organic) so it can be uptaken immediately. It’s cheap af.

Well, buy a pH drop meter and a pH down acid so that you leave it at a value of 6.0 and for calming it would be better that you use water that you buy for the plants before the glyph, at least if you do not want to spend natural water on calming products. . It should have enough calcium and magnesium in addition to having a stable pH of 7.0 and with 3 drops of pH down it leaves it at 6.0
the same natural water that you drink, look on the label for the one that has more calcium and magnesium but it does not have to be mineral water, natural still water, this would be the best option to save you a calm payment.

Ground eggshells takes 6 months plus to break down in a hot compost pile they will take longer in a growing environment just a heads up.

In the shell form it take up to a year to break down. You need to blend it down into a power for it to work. But, even then it’ll take a week or so to get an effect.

If you are strictly going organic. Brew up a compost tea and top dress with the egg shell power. You need the microbes to start eating it asap.

Wormcastings in the tea of course but can i put just a little bit of organic fish mix also?

There is a way to extract from ground eggshells using vinegar to make it available today. Even as a finely ground powder the amount that will be bioavailable at any point soon isn’t worth the effort. I’ve heard good things about extracting with vinegar but I honestly haven’t done it so I can’t really speak to it. I can say my compost pile is turned weekly and I haven’t had chickens in 2 years, I still find shells in the pile. There are also pH issues to worry about when you grind them to a fine powder as it’s a bicarbonate which ties up a lot of other nutes if I’m not mistaken and raises soil pH.
