So I recently harvested my last run, 2 x Blueberry Muffins by HSC and 2 x Kmintz by Ripper.
If you know anything about the BMs, they are loud AF. Their terpenes literally explode with blueberry candy aromas dominating whatever space they are in.
However, that intensity did not translate to the flavor like I was expecting. The smoke was a mild, fruity taste, pretty unremarkable tbh. Nice effect, but nothing special flavor-wise.
On the other hand, the Kmintz terps were pretty muted unless you brushed up against the plants. They were great, but didn’t leap off the plant like the BMs.
But the smoke, it is super intense in terms of flavor. Lime zest and a touch of mint. Really massive flavor.
So what I thought was gonna be the worse strain out of the two is by far the better, at least for me.
You guys notice this before? What do you prefer, terps or flavor?
I definitely prefer flavor! A few days ago I was treated to a strain that had a lot of grape flavor. I think it improves the experience. Also, the aroma is always present, sometimes more, sometimes less strong. On the other hand, the flavor is harder to achieve.
Flavor hands down. Unfortunately, I haven’t yet had that moment where something wow’d me with the Flavor. I’ve had some pretty good stuff. But, im still hunting that great.
This post sent me to google. This whole time I thought flavor was a result of terpenes but apparently not. I found out… flavonoids work together with terpenes to influence flavor, smell and pigment differences and there’s even cannabis specific flavonoids called cannflavins And besides flavor, flavonoids have other properties that work together with cannabinoids and terps to provide the different therapeutic effects I thought it was cannabinoids alone providing those effects. That’s cool af
And to answer your question, terps if I’m selling and flavor for personal!
This was disappointing to read as I have a pack of blueberry muffin and pancakes heading my way. All the reviews acted like the blueberry flavor was a wow factor. I am hunting for a flavor to wow me as I’ve been smoking 20+ years and have never tasted anything I thought was what people describe. I never get the fruit notes or candy notes just earth and gas is all I recognize.
I know what you mean bro. Don’t take my word for it though, could just be my setup. This guy says “I even taste blueberry on the tongue hours after smoking, it’s a soft, tender blueberry creamy taste, but really strong”
The BMs are amazing, they fill the house with an amazing scent, not like weed, just a fruity goodness, like bowls of blueberry potpourri are everywhere lol.
I was just expecting more flavor as the terps were so loud. On the other hand, the flavor of the Kmintz bangs, it really is stellar.
It’s probably the most flavorful weed I’ve had, along with the Slipstream from Compound.

That’s exactly what I’m doing…looking for those flavors. I’m gonna do 3 sweet ones next… Watermelon , Royal Runtz and Sweet Tooth.
Hopefully get more flavor in them…I get mostly a quick lemon , pepper taste then earth after taste.
I’m using different nuets this run gonna wait a couple more days in grove bags until I smoke any and find out with my F1.
