Hey everyone, how do you transplant a plant that’s going through some branch bending training? I got a plant that I’m trying it out with but I didn’t think about the transplanting. I have it in a 3 gal pot and will transfer it within 2-3 weeks. I think she’s responding well to the training because I can see three shoots coming out of the main stem but I’m really worried what to do when it’s time to transplant.
Do it while she is still young and when you do it, do it decisively. You don’t want to jostle the plant (and its exposed roots) around any more than you have too. I usually wait until the media is dry enough I can just grab the stem and have the whole rootball slide out. It’s not a big deal if you break some branches up top but when you start tearing up some roots in the process, it will delay her recovery.
When transplanting any plant with training I always remove the training apparatus (string, weights, benders etc). Do the transplant and then readjust the trainers afterwards
Everything I transplant has been tied to the pot as well, slightly stronger wind from your fans will strengthen the branches enough after about 10-14 days and once you repot them they will more or less stay formed and just re tie them after you transplant and water @520grower
