Urgent 1st time hydro grower sos

Hey guys. I have a beautiful hydro grown plant. I’ve had her a little over a month now and everything has been going great but now I’m starting to see signs of a nitrogen deficiency. I lose about 4-5 leaves a day. I am using nutes so I’m assuming it’s due to the ph. I have had several electronic ph meters and they all read off. I had ph testing strips that all read at 6.5 no matter what. I genuinely have zero clue how ppl are using these products to ph their water.

Are you using calibration liquid to calibrate the ph meters? There are also liquid ph testing kits too but I really dislike the liquid test kits because they take soo long to get the ph right

Also you can look into ph perfect nutrient lines like these if you want a quick and easy fix Do you have a photo of the whole plant? It kinda looks like nutrient burn with the tips of every leaf being burnt/dry

I have tried the liquid as well. It does take longer but in my opinion is the most accurate. I will look into the ph balanced blend. What do you use to balance your ph?

yeah that’s the problem with pH meters, you gotta calibrate them or they’re useless. i just manually adjust the pH with a little pH Down and a liquid pH test kit to check if it’s 6.0. Basically the same kit hot tubs use. it’s a little more work every reservoir refill but it eliminates my pH woes.

Hydro ph is different than soil. At 6.5 you are locking out boron, manganese, and phosphorus. If you take it down to 5.5 you’ll be locking out Magnesium and calcium. You will have to adjust back and forth since there is no way to include everything at one PH point. Check out my post “Free Valuable Resources” for a ph chart from Oaksterdam University.
