I wanna leave it but Im afraid it may be to late. The guy who gave them to me said it was about a 7 or 8 week strain. Take a look at the journal. Might be still just alot of room for growth on my part but the buds arent that big either. Smokeable but nothing to brag about.
Hello, i keep the plants to a muddy state like yours and then wash them with water for 10 days. During this time, some of the trichomes will turn amber.
Okay so youâre half way through week 7 right now. I personally wouldnât harvest until at least the end of week 8 on December 29.
Your pics look good but considering the timeframe I think you should hold off & at the very least wait 3 more days so you finish week 7 fully.
I think harvesting now is premature, be patient. In my experience buds tend to swell the most in the last couple weeks.
Hereâs a source to some more in depth info. Itâs still fairly general but it will give you a good idea.
These pics are from the article:
My WWs were supposed to take 8-9 weeks. They finished in seven. I noticed the leaves began to dry and curl. Trichomes were turning amber. One of them was completely purple and its head had fallen off. I made many mistakes early on and it cost me 4 weeks of growing time. They were 12 weeks old before I flipped. So, 7 weeks into flowering they had become old. I also did not get much size out of them. But none of that matters. When they are ripe, they are ripe. The amber color means that the THC is beginning to degrade. Now is when you will get the uplifting euphoric high.
Depends on what kinda high your looking for but they look ready to me for a uplifting high, cloudy with a touch of amber is what I like
@esoteric1, I would give to days max, check every 8 hours if possible. Those amber trichomes are built fast.
Sooo, what does it look like now? Have you picked?
I havent. Took these pics yesterday decided to wait a bit. I did take one to do 72hr dark starting yesterday. Ill get more pics this afternoon if i can.
@Outdoorman thanks so much for checking up on me man. I appreciate all your help bro.these pics are today a few minutes ago right before lights out. @ImpaLa604 what you think now. All from different bud sites same plant. This is teaching me patients and its alot of fun.
@ImpaLa604 after further investigation I think I still see some clear heads
Yeah, Iâm not seeing any amber in these photos. I guess Iâd wait a day or two and see.
@canagen @209MIKE @Sedrik777 what yall say. Remember its my 2nd grow. I think Im starting to understand. I started counting flower weeks from day of flip not pistils showing. I havent accounted for 2-3 weeks preflower. If thats correct and my count is 8 weeks then its technically 4-6 weeks actual flowering time which would explain the clear trichs and smaller size buds. Am I getting it?
Outdoors when pistils are showing
Indoors when you switch to 12/12
indoors youâre forcing the plant to flower & outside goes with the change in season
@esoteric1 looks good! Based on the pictures thereâs only a handful of clear trichs , IMO I donât think youâre risking too much potency if you chop it today
Itâs up to you now!
if this was me I would watch it for a few days and once I can count 5-10 amber trichs in a couple areas I call it but thatâs just my personal preference. I really donât think youâll be disappointed either way.
Hereâs a better explanation:
Going by week count just gives you a ball park figure as to when you should start checking the trichs, in my opinion.
There is still quite a bit of clear in some of the pics plus I canât tell if these trich pics are off the sugar leaves or calyx themselves. The sugar leaves would obviously ripen faster than the calyx. To me it does look like it is in its 6th week.
I always start to count days of flower when I see the first pistols pertruding out. The first thing youâll notice is the tops of each main branch will start growing single finger leaves then check daily until you see your first pistils poking out of the tops and thatâs day #1 of flower in my book as your girls started forming âflowersâ. @esoteric1
You could always quick dry some larf from the bottom and try it. It may taste funky though. I snip some larf off and lay in a strainer and place on top of my fridge by the back. Within a day, it should be dry enough to smoke.
But personally, I would wait and keep checking daily for a week. Going down the home stretch is always the longest.
They arenât ready yet, good pics btw
yeah still alot of clear ones there, i woukd wait untill all are milky ane cloudy with a few ambers here and there
