These 2 look a bit washed out with some yellowing already - any ideas? Running EC 1.6 / 800ppm Thanks!
One of the easiest mistakes we make for seedlings is overwatering. they really do not need much.
They also do not require any nutrients at this point.
Your soil does look pretty wet. Are you letting the soil dry out between waterings? Have you started nutrients?
It is natural for the first, small round leaves(cotyledons) to discolour and whither.
Cheers.
Ya I think I started the nutes a bit early. It’s coco so not easy to overwater but I’ll reduce the watering cycles too
If anything, I would flush the soil really well to get out any nutes that maybe built up. This way when you water next you will be starting with “fresh” soil……
As far as nutes, IF anything, cal mag is gonna be what you want to use to help it maintain its green foliage.
Scuba is correct. A good flush would be beneficial.
I also agree that cal/mag should be a part of every watering/ feeding.
I use cal/mag every time. I have noticed much healthier plants, this year as opposed to last year.
No it’s brand new coco, no soil and no nutrient build up. Plus I use a full spectrum which doesn’t need extra calmag. Plus they’re tiny seedlings and don’t need CalMag yet.
I dont grow in coco, but for my feed schedule I have to be in week 2 flower before the recommended ppm and ec get as high as you’re feeding your seedling. I think ppm in the 100 to 150 range is where you want to feed. @Stoney1BudTokie grows in coco and has amazing flowers. Stoney, you have any tips to provide?
If you’re using a “full spectrum” nute system then your seedlings
DEFINITELY have nute burn. So a good flush will help it out.
@aman_rndhw would be correct in the fact that your EC/PPM is WAYYYY too high for seedlings.
Good luck! Hopefully you can get her to bounce back.
Thanks all. Much appreciated. I weakened the solution.
If you are growing in coco, you need to give extra calmag than what the grow guide recommends. Full spectrum lighting has nothing to do with calcium, magnesium supplements lack of lighting. Also coco competes with the plant for calcium, so you need to compensate for that. If you are starting with unbuffered coco, you will need to give a double dose of calmag to start. From the photo though its looking droopy and overwatered. Read the plant, not the medium. If you listen, she will tell you what she needs and when.
