What y'all planning on growing in 2024?

Bored so thought I’d check out what strains are on the horizon for '24. Sounds like a bunch of weirdness coming…

Anyone bored of the usual varieties (apparently the top 50 strains are made up of 10 flavors) might wanna check this out. Some of these sound absolutely rank ngl but definitely interesting.

“This isn’t for those who may have a weak gut. Although it sounds weird, these nuggets smell like hot fumes from your butt—yet delicious. I promise!”

or

“This one plant straight-up smelled like a halitosis sufferers group meeting.”

These do not sound enticing at all although I’d like to check them out. Not ready to buy seeds and spend 4 months on something that smells like farts or bad breath though :joy:

As for me, I fancy growing a few more gassy strains, along with maybe a couple old school varieties (eg Skunk, Northern Lights maybe) if I can find decent genetics.

On my last grow i grew the Tropicana cookies x grampas cookies and it was really funky / skunky smelling. Was not a fan. Im not into that kind of stuff. I like the candy blends with a little gas. I have a couple im looking at buying later this year. But, i probably wont be growing them till next year. Right now im still growing the banana hammock rbx from ethos. But, i have some freebies m/f seeds id like to try.

How about stoner friends, Well at the moment I’m trying some new products on the market, such as Apple Fritters, Zereal Milk and Gelato Sundae, but also another genetic that has been out for a while but I liked it so much for its smells and flavors, the Tropicanna Banana.
Good fumes!

Check out all you cool kids running the Bentgenetics exclusives :joy:

@ShaggyGrower.V2 - if you like the tropicana b - check out banana punch, the one I ran was from Barney’s who I don’t recommend but these had the most amazing tropical terps I’ve ever smelled. Amazing.

@Crackadoo - nice, love afghan kush. malana cream is massive over in India, they use it to make charas. Never smoked the bud though, be interested to hear what it’s like.

@ItsOzzie - I know what you mean, I love most varieties but some of these new strains I am like wtf - burger grease terps what the actual?! lol. Surprised to hear the TCxGC was funky tho, sounds like it’d be fruity. How was the banana hammock? I’ve looked at that in the past.

Running what I got until I’m out - which means Princess Haze and Grimm Truffles again. I’m focusing more on optimizing the grow with new nutrients and equipment. I found out my silica additive isnt immediately bioavailable for plants and a friend’s feeding schedule has PowerSI listed, much more expensive but it is monosilic acid which is the version that bacteria doesnt have to break down first before my plants can use it, it’s immediately usable when added to nutrient solution. Just things like that I’m trying

Nice. Yeah I found out recently that synthetic, mineral based nutes get the best yields in tests. Crazy but it’s the same thing, nutes are immediately available to the plant, no waiting around for microbes to do their thing.

They are also (for the most part) cheaper. When I came into this I was like “Organic all the way” but the more I learn, it’s about giving the plant the best conditions for it to thrive :person_shrugging: so this doesn’t surprise me at all.

Speaking of fruity strains, I have a 5 pack of Lemon Orange from GHS that sounds spectacular.

Think I might run these next alongside something gassy. Best of both worlds.

Id love to get ahold of a cherry or grape flavor strain. If you know of any I’d probably be interested. Right now im looking at getting this (pic below) for maybe something to run next winter. But, im still looking at other options.

How about SJ1 yes yes from Barney’s the Banana Punch I already grew it 2 years ago and I agree with you, it came out with a green and very sweet Platano stench. I still have the photos here.
Practically from Barney’s Farm I tried:
Banana Punch
Tropicanna Banana
Mimosa Evo
Watermelon Zkittlez
Dosage two x Gelato#33
Blue Sunset Sherbert
wedding cake
Runtz Muffin
Runtz x Layer Cake
Pineapple Express fem
Well, all genetics that I can recommend without fail are very good genetics!

Now I bought 3 seed packets of 3 from Purple City Genetics seeds from Oakland California, they would be:
Hooch: Slurty3( slurricane x Gelato#33) x street guru( Gush mintz x Oreoz)

Secret Meeting: Waiting Game( Fruity Pebbles OG x Mac#1) x Gush Mintz

Tectonic: Truffle Cream (Peach Ozz x Cookies 'n Cream x Rainbow Truffle) x Gush Mintz

BANANA PUNCH Barney’s Farm

They all sound amazing

Well, these are the Gelato Sundae, Zereal Milk and the two Apple Frittes, one went more for the Animal Cookies and the other took the Sour Apple.

You might wanna try “Grape Ape” it’s supposed to have the grape flavor…then there’s “Cherry Pie” both from RQS. I can’t say for sure right now but give me about 6 months and I can tell you.:+1:

If you are after fruity strains take a look at Humboldt, I’ve been really impressed with their blueberry muffin. I was told it is loud but it actually is, and smells just like blueberry candies.

I’ve heard really good things about this one HELLA JELLY CANNABIS SEEDS which has a bit of everything you are after.

@ShaggyGrower.V2 - nice work. If you are a fan of Barney’s check out their Blueberry cheese and Biscotti Mintz - both of them (if you get good phenos) are seriously good. Really like the sound of those Gush Mintz varietals.

:joy::joy: @SJ1 I also grew Biscotti mints, an incredible flavor, crazy and an indica batch to lie on the couch taking a nap!
But now I am becoming a fan of this bank, Purple City Genetics, because as a seed bank from Oakland CA, they have original American phenotypes, with the fact that they have been working since 2008 on making cuttings of their plants to sell them in all Oakland dispensaries and also In 2020 they began to release their seeds for Europe with the same phenotypes that they sold as clones.

Currently running CDLC by Mephisto and I have 8 regs of strawberry daze by Crockett family farms. I haven’t been impressed by Crockett. My first batch of 8 seeds from them were super leggy under 300 ppfd and this batch has 6 of 8 that are wonky and just not looking like anything worth keeping. Next run will be some bentgenetics and the rest of my Mephisto manbearalienpig seeds. My run after that will be something in the blueberry family from Humboldt.
