When does flowering time calculations start?

This is a question posted for beginners, designed to be informative, so when does it start? My seed bank says my plant will take 10 weeks to flower but when does that 10 weeks start? Is it the moment I flip the switch to 12/12? Is it a week after, 2?

Beginner myself all i know is about outdoors and photo periods it takes about 8 weeks i believe and once u start seeing the little white hairs is when its about to go into flowering. I dont know if its the same for every plant. Probably not.

IDK. I don’t go by that anyway. I go by the color of the trychs. Just wondering.

Is it a auto or regular?

I grow mainly outdoors but do indoors during winter and this article is what ive gone off when deciding how long its been flowering but feel free to check it out How long after switching to 12/12 until plants start flowering?.

It will take time for the plant to build up the flowering hormones but I track from the flip. There is not set amount of time for the plant to do its thing but 12/12 is the trigger point so I track from there with photos.

Mine are all regulars.

When i switch to 12/12 is what i call day F0 and the clock starts from there.

Just to keep the communication going
that will depend on if the strain is Autoflower or Photo.
