I don’t plan to plant the seeds.

But I think it’s better for the two flowering autoflowers next to it…

The new fan arrived, so the old one could serve as exhaust again, which is perfectly sufficient for the small tent.

The new one went into the big tent  nice

I agree with you on that, but I’ve noticed that they tend to grow male and female separately per node, so with caution, it’s no big deal… also my own experiences.

Exactly @KilliczGe, don’t use the seeds from a hermaphrodite.

The chance that it will hermaphrodite again, especially from that genetic line, is incredibly high, and Snake is right about that. And if you already have others in the tent, it’s right to get rid of the thing or separate it, which is probably not possible due to space constraints. But I would say that the sacs are already open and pollen has been or was distributed.

What a shame, man, such a beautiful thing and then such crap. Hopefully it’s cloudy and milky enough that a nice head high will still be or already be there.

The only question is - Why? Genetics or stress-induced?

I’ve also been searching for the after-glow story, but so far I haven’t found anything, but especially the ones in the back are not as visible as the ones in the front, and there’s always a surprise left. I hope everything goes well.

With the soil moisture sensors, I currently have my doubts whether 30 - 40% is really the ideal. Those things only reach about 8 cm deep into the soil.

So I think, it could be that if it’s optimal at the top, it might be too wet deeper down.

Shit, who knows that! Now I’ll wait to see if the Fast Diesel shows some amber trichs soon. I haven’t checked anymore because I’m probably already in the garden. :joy:

I’ll let the sensors drop to 25% now and then I’ll see how far along it is. Today is flowering day 52, the first one finished on 56. I’ll let this one go a few days longer, until next week. And so I’m already getting started in parallel with the garden.

For that, the irrigation will also be completely changed, and I’m switching to Blumat. I bought the 12-piece set today, a tap – no, not for eating but for shutting off water, Hehehe – and a few connectors too. A bargain, on sale at Dehner.

20251008_144451

Another credit for Ama… because they didn’t have the Tensiometer. Now Ama… wants a hundred. Well, so I ordered it from Grow… and because the garden bed later reaches more than 40 cm deep, I cautiously ordered 2 more carrots that also reach deeper for the middle, and a few drip distributors will be attached to them. This way I hope for consistent moisture in the Living Soil. Controllable with the Tensiometer, and then I can also plug in two of the sensors for comparison purposes to see what the optimum should be at the top so it’s not too wet at the bottom. I’m still cracking the secret of ideal moisture for Living Soil. A tank connection is also available here with Blumat, so I might be able to repurpose the Auto Pot Tank for it. The Blumat advantage;

If you add nutrients directly to the soil, the Blumat only releases water again when the substrate has dried back to the point. In my case, then, when molasses / compost tea is due for feeding and boosting the soil.

Always trying something new also keeps things exciting in the long run.

Anyway, yesterday I had another appointment with the dentist, and it wasn’t pleasant this time. Another root canal treatment on a ground-down tooth that is ceramic-crowned. Due to the inflammation at the root, the anesthetic probably wore off too quickly, and fiddling around with the nerve was really intense. Now came the announcement that in two months he wants to X-ray again to see if the inflammation is completely gone. That would be the fourth X-ray on just that tooth. If the inflammation isn’t gone,

he would surgically remove the inflammation. One thinks of pulling a tooth. Far from it; he wants to open it up, through the upper jaw bone. Cut out the tooth root along with the inflammation, drill whatever. He doesn’t say that the sinus cavity, nerves, or such can be injured, with all the unpleasant consequences arising from that.

If the inflammation doesn’t go away, he’ll pull it for me. I think that’s the plan. You almost feel like a test subject.

So I’m back in the background and I’m already looking forward to the second day of soup.

Have a nice evening and many greetings from Pflanzenpaule

At least there was still 117g wet from the four branches.
If I had trained them, they surely would have turned out great.

I think snake once said something about it, it’s due to the flickering lamp during the flowering period.
So now the test to see if the new lamp can fix that.
Genetics could always be a factor.

Too short a waiting period before switching to flowering after topping. Could also be.

Well. The automatics are now better lit at day 25 (estimated) of flowering.

Let’s bring it to an end

And since the improvised fan works well. The temperature and humidity are now great. 23-24 degrees with around 60% for the veggie tent.
Quite nice.

Really a shame about the beautiful plant @KilliczGe, I hope nothing else gets pollinated.

And @Pflanzenpaul, the thing with dentists is a very simple matter: if he pulls the tooth, he earns nothing more from it. My last one absolutely wanted to save one for me, “you can’t pull that one, we’ll get it fixed again,” he said when I went in with a totally infected cheek. And then he still wanted to poke around in there with his damned metal hook; he has to see how deep he needs to drill. Pah, I put my fist under his nose and said, “if that hook goes into my mouth, it’ll hit your face and leave a decent impression.” And lo and behold, X-rays were suddenly an option too. WHAT A P… The end of the story was the tooth was fixed and broke off 4 hours later. After that, I worked on the broken spot with a small file so there wouldn’t be any sharp edges and left it like that; it’s dead and doesn’t hurt anymore anyway.

@herr_gruen

I know the schemes of dentists well enough. Primarily, it’s only about the money. From the beginning, I wanted everything that was left from my predecessors out and a denture. In my youth, a prison dentist had drilled and filled all my molars – for whatever reason.

These teeth broke down in subsequent years and were pulled without replacement, which led to chewing with front teeth that in turn wore down inwards. But my current one said they were otherwise okay and talked me out of getting them pulled and then a denture.

He would grind down all existing teeth and crown them with ceramic.

Apart from a small co-payment, the health insurance covered most of it due to a double hardship case.

Now the enamel was destroyed, which opened the floodgates for germs. Within the warranty period, I lost an upper right bridge crown that has not been replaced to this day. Because he wants to place implants, and I say no. I have arthrosis, osteoporosis = bone loss, and the idiot wants to drill into my bones. To this day, no consultation with my family doctor.

I am a smoker. That’s one thing.

Meanwhile, it was the third or fourth root canal treatment, drilling through the ceramic here and there, and each time a hundred euros that the insurance doesn’t cover. His saying at the beginning was that if everything was crowned, I’d have 20 years of peace. Since then, not one month of peace.

When I refused the second root canal treatment and told him to pull it because I don’t see the point of root canals every few weeks and paying for it myself, which I don’t want and can’t do. There was a reason for the hardship case. Since then, he’s doing it for free.

He has a problem with the fact that my idea of ‘everything out’ was better, and not his – the specialist’s – promise of 20 years of peace. Because in this case, it’s not about the money. Here, rather, a lot went wrong. He wanted to push implants on me for a lot of money, just like any other dentist. They aren’t satisfied with what flows in for publicly insured patients. Greed is more in the foreground; now he wants to save and preserve at all costs.

And while one root is being treated, the next one is already in the starting blocks. A horror without end.

I will now have to get a second opinion and present my case to the medical service of the health insurance company.

I was talked out of the denture with promises that were worthless. 20 years of peace. Wanting to drill through my jaw soon. Every meal becomes torture. And that’s since he messed with it. Yesterday, at least the X-ray worked; before that, 2 times I had to be X-rayed 4 times for 2 pictures because the chick was too stupid and preferred to fool around with her colleague instead of focusing. One doesn’t get younger, and everyone knows that X-rays damage tissue, even leading to cancer. The older one gets, the longer it takes for the body to break down such things. And he’s not the only one. Other doctors also X-ray, and then one doesn’t have to live out such things excessively as a standard procedure.

No joke, filling, “we’re done,” says the doc. I got up from the chair, and the filling immediately fell out again. He quickly pushed it back in, and the whole bite was off. As soon as I walked through the door at home, the thing was out again.

Experienced all of it already. I don’t understand it. Others get dentures too, don’t they? I’m just curious what the health insurance company will say about it. I’ll have it assessed because all of this is taking too long and comes with too many problems. Greetings

Well then, the day is almost over, and there was a lot of water to distribute today. My thought that 30% to 40% soil moisture might be too wet at the bottom was quickly dispelled. There were few days with less water. The sensor for the Mexican (plant) was down to 28% today, and the consequence;

Several of the lowest leaves are yellow, and that was due to being too dry.

So today, throughout the day, 2.5 liters of water were added to each pot in several stages so that the soil could fully absorb it. The Jamaican and also the Fast Diesel each received even 3 liters, and so the sensors returned to 50 - 60%. The little dry stress can work wonders if you look at the trichomes on the Fast Diesel. These are proliferating in huge amounts around the flower calyxes, but she’s still not finished yet.

Today was flowering day 53, the eighth flowering week, and many pistils are now browned, and many light ones are still there. I also find many glassy trichomes in the upper flowering area, so it’s cheerfully going into the ninth week. I find the splendor of colors so cool. On the weekend I will take a closer look at the trichomes with microscopes.

I think the flowers have gained a good amount in size again.

Tomorrow, the delivery with the rest of the Blumat accessories is announced, and then I will determine the moisture content of the clone pots and put Blumat carrots in them. Every two days, 1 liter of water must be added to the pots, because today it was very dry again. Well, they are smaller pots that dry out faster. This way I can practice adjusting it, as there are enough of them.

The other three in flower still need about 2 to 3 weeks. 9 to eleven flowering weeks are indicated there, but that will also pass quickly.

The sugar (trichomes/resin) extends to larger leaves there. Here too, everything grows up from the net into a flower, and a good amount still goes up over the net.

Here I will dry the leaves separately and later sieve them.

Not much was going on here today, actually nothing at all. Hope you are all doing well? Greetings from Pflanzenpaule

Today Day 7 / Week 1 Room Temp 23 °C / RH 57 %

20251011_111920Today I gave 2 liters of water, heated to 20 °C and with a pH of 6.5, half from above and half from below. While watering, I discovered a 2 cm long root tip in the tray, which is probably searching for water.

Dear colleague @KilliczGe

You are not alone with the hermaphrodite crap. Today, on flowering day 55, I discovered a pollen sac on one of the smaller lower flowers of the Fast Diesel, which I immediately tore out. Generally, the flowers in some places look almost like a foxtail. But they are covering themselves with trichomes. And slowly the pistils are turning more brown, and the light ones are decreasing. The good thing was that the banana was wind-protected and stood so low that even if it opened, it would probably only have landed on the ground.

1760201046306this is a small one of the lowest flowers.

1760201190709

1760201163134

1760201175894

You can see even just with a phone how it’s covering itself with all that beautiful stuff, and in the following picture you see the foxtail shenanigans, but then again, it’s so splattered with trichomes that it doesn’t matter how it looks.

1760201210172

I’m now keeping a closer eye on it twice a day to react immediately by removing any further bananas, to let them mature for a few more days.
So close to the end, it can no longer diminish the quality of the harvest.

20251011_140954 And finally, the rest of the Blumat system arrived with additional distribution drippers and a tensiometer, after being loaded in the DHL delivery vehicle for 2 days again. Already out for delivery yesterday and again today.

Tomorrow is flowering day 56, and that’s when I harvested the first Fast Diesel.

I want to bring this one into the ninth week and then harvest it. I think tomorrow will be the last time watering, and then let it dry in the soil for three or four days.

It was clear that the arcing did not remain without consequences. That’s why the contactor and the load have now been removed from the timer. That won’t happen again.

Pflanzenpaule wishes you a pleasant Sunday.

@Pflanzenpaul Foxtails can, if not genetically desired, result from light stress. Too much or too close. I had that with the last grow with the homemade light, I was probably too close there. And this time too, it started with the Zushi and unfortunately can no longer be prevented with the Zombie. In the end, I had the lamp at 50 - 55 cm. And here too, just like last time, a few bananas or eggs at the very bottom. I wonder if one has to do with the other  or if the genetics are just getting worse?

I once looked at pictures of the first Fast Diesel and their clones, and they also had these outgrowths on the buds. The lights are already running at 80%.

20251012_112733

20251012_113034

20251012_113017

I just found these parts, and two more that were immediately rinsed down the sink.

Quite deviously constructed. A calyx that opens, and out come bananas. Yesterday they weren’t there yet. Given the speed at which they are now appearing, I will no longer exercise patience and will harvest them today and start the Cannatrol for drying.

I strongly assume that these are male structures, meaning the Fast Diesel is hermaphroditic, and the light stress due to afterglow is taking its course, but everything was recognized early, the bananas are still closed. I’ll save what can be saved, because there are three others there where I still want to avoid pollination towards the end.

Do you agree with me that it is what it is???

Specifically concerning the flower shape, it seems to be this described conical shape. Today is flower day 56, eight flower weeks are complete out of 7 - 9, and I’m right in the middle of it. Even if I’m missing some amber, the rest of the light pistils will brown further during drying, but many of the trichomes are milky. It also ripens a bit further during drying, which might mean it could even be on point now.

I would have liked to leave it standing for a bit longer, but that’s getting a bit risky.

Then, a happy Sunday to everyone. Greetings from Pflanzenpaul

@Pflanzenpaul those are definitely male flowers, there’s no doubt about it. I would harvest them or finish them separately if possible.

If all trichomes are milky and you don’t have too much amber yet, you can always expect a Sativa high.

@herr_gruen this confirms my suspicion. Since I have no way to separate them, I will harvest them right away. The Cannatrol is running and can stabilize the values.

Today was already the eighth week of flowering. And there’s a lot of milky

Always these excuses.
Actually, @Pflanzenpaul finally wants to use his fridge :face_blowing_a_kiss::wink:

Yeah, no. That’s annoying.
But that’s how it was here too. Female appearance and weeks later, the sac pops out.
Well
They just want to reproduce. Cat and mouse.

The evening is already quite advanced, and the Fast Diesel rests in peace!

Checked the trichomes one last time, and I think there was a bit of amber too.

So, a bit of everything, you could say!

1760295172350

It could have been a few more days, but during the wet trim, I kept finding small  that were just starting to appear, though there were no open ones. Yep, @KilliczGe is also somewhat right. I was also itching to finally test the Cannatrol.

As the Diesel lay there, cut in the tray.

1760295223405

1760295211887

I already turned on the device so the temperature could stabilize and let it run in storage mode.

1760295254066

Then I wet trimmed everything, weighed it, loaded the trays.

1760295236425

1760295263914

And once everything had found its place nicely in the cabinet, the Dry Mode started.

1760295292001

1760295277395

Once I had determined the total weight of the wet buds, I saw that there was still room in the drying cabinet, so I moved the lower trays up in between, allowing another tray with a sieve to fit at the bottom, containing the popcorn buds and trim, which can thus dry and cure along with the rest.

Then I can soon sieve it all and press some hash.

Now 4 days of drying are underway, and then it transitions into Curing. At around 18.9 degrees and initially 62 - 63% humidity. The yield was :ok_hand:.

Now there’s some space in the tent, and tomorrow I can get to the ones at the back to take a closer look at them.

Oh, great! And while the root-canal-treated tooth is only provisionally sealed, the next tooth is already hurting. Great!

The dentist being on vacation gives me an opportunity to go to another one and get a second opinion right away. Until then. Greetings from Pflanzenpaule
