Day1. Geminating 1 seed in a papertowel/sandwich bag hung in a dark room on my tent. I was told it helps the root grow downward. First ever grow. Blue Dream. 2x2 tent. Mars Hydro TS 1000. Hey @BenHangry welcome to the community im also going to be doing a blue dream indoor grow around nov.1st ive used the fox farm trio and soil as well, i still use the soil but just recently wmswitched to a new nute brand and dry ammendments but the FF lineup and soil works well (opinions vary on the brand but thats with most anyways lol) so if you have any questions feel free to ask and im positive youll get tons of help from the community as well as whatever i may be able to assist with. Happy growing and good luck bud
Look good to me.
But you really don’t need both Big Bloom and Tiger Bloom .
I’m using FF myself and have had great results.
This is what I use , I use the PH up because of RO water and it only being 6.0 PH. I take it up to 6.5 PH to help prevent fert. lock out.
Thanks! I hope it all goes well for your grows
Thank you! I’ll have to remember that for my next grow. I am planning on getting cal mag and silica for this grow. Although do i really need silica? Is it beneficial do yoy know?
Also planning on getting some epsome salt i think its called
I don’t know about silica , but Epson salt is used for magnesium. It might not be necessary since your using FF soil and it’s in Calmag for the added plant needs during flower stage
In my opinion I would only use Epson salt if there was a deficiency or you need it because you mix your own soil and not enough if any is in it.
I had to start using Calmag during week two of vegetation because of this reason.
I’m not sure if your doing an auto but if you are I would run a permanent 18/6 light schedule and keep the PPFD around 200 for seedling then increase to 500 PPFD during veg cycle.
Im running fem photo
You can still run under an 18/6 schedule until you move it outside or want it to flower indoors then you need a 12/12 light schedule. The lighting strength should be the same requirement window for both;
100-300 PPFD for seedling
400-600 PPFD for vegetation
700+ for flower.
I personally never used a chart for feeding.
I mix one gallon by the bottle directions water till it comes out the bottom put aside the rest for next time , if any is left. I use 1/2 gallon straight water in between feedings.
I did LST yesterday morning:
And this is the way she looks today:
I don’t know if this is quick recovery considering it’s my first time , I’m just going from personal experience and only on my second plant but I’m happy with the results I’m getting.
She a Purple Kush auto.
Beautiful plant! I cant wait to get where you are right now. Im chomping at the bit to get my girl germinated and planted and its only day 2. I took it out of the paper towl and put it in a glass of water but it sank to the bottom and now im worried about that lol. I have since put it back in a new paper towel and ziplock bag sealed 75% shut and hung it on the out side of my tent. I think i just need to stop messing with it
Recovered nicely its a good sign of a healthy plant. Basically plant hardly had any stress if any at all so didnt take away from the small veg window using energy to recover. Well done bud
The hanging method is new to me but if it works i would love to know if you would please. My method is similiar to yours 12 hrs in water above my fridge then 12 hrs in damp paper towel in a ziplock bag but i blow air into bag and seal shut to create a humidty dome and place in warm dark place (above my fridge again) and between 12-24 hrs later tails have sprouted and ready for planting
Well i didnt let in soak in water i just put it in there for a second and it sank like a rock so i freaked out and put it back in a paper towl. Yeah so im told if you hang it the roots will grow downward as if its in soil instead of it curling around trying to grow downwards
Ahh that makes sense to me and def let me know if it works please. If seed sinks to bottom it means its fresh and ready sprout for the most part. Some germ in straight water and works for them. After 12 hrs or so in water or less the seeds normally sink as well and thats when i transplant to paper towel and baggie so im guessing you got a good seed and should show a tap root anytime now
I hope so because its day 2 of being in a towel. In retrospect I should have waiting until i have my ph up and down but it should be here by friday…i just couldnt wait to get started lol im also worried about my cheap vivosun ph and tds meter i should have went for a more expensive one. yes ill definitely let you know. Thanks for your info and reassurance!
Silica is not what I would call essential but it is definitely something I would recommend. It helps build stronger cells in the plant which leads to stronger branches and is also helpful to trichome development
Some other products have silica in them as well so keep an eye out for anything where you can kill two birds with one stone
My girls drink this stuff like there is no tomorrow
Nice. Do you use that in every feeding?
I use a plain silica during most of veg until 2 weeks before I plan to switch to flower. Then I start using the amino k as a foliar feed every night before lights out and then start adding it to my nute mix after week 1 of flower just because that’s usually when I stop all foliar feeding
