Hey Mate! I like your approach of having a mother plant from which you can take clones. It’s always good to have a plan before you start a grow. But I see a few problems with your grow and setup. First, you need more light! Your plant is stretching so much because it thinks there’s a bush or tall grass above it and is trying to reach more light by stretching. And then there’s the mold.. There are helpful fungi and harmful fungi when growing. What we want is mycorrhiza. It forms a symbiotic relationship with the plant, helps the plant absorb nutrients, and prevents harmful fungi from settling in by occupying the space in the soil. I think a fungus that eats a grapefruit peel will eventually attack the roots of your plant and ultimately eat the whole plant. Furthermore, you should get a tent or create some other kind of enclosed space for the plants to keep the temperature and air conditions as constant as possible. And if you want to work with a mother plant and clones, you’ll also need a second tent. I would recommend getting a decent white grow light and calculating at least 100 watts per plant. Regarding the tent size, you’ll have to decide for yourself how much weed you need, how much work you want to put in, and how much space of your home you’re willing to dedicate to this hobby. And you should have at least one fan in every tent, depending on its size. But you have my utmost respect for keeping the little one alive for so long! It really shows that you’ve cared for it with a lot of love over the last nine weeks! And it also shows once again what a robust plant we’re all working with here. My recommendation for you is to forget about the mother plant and clones for now and do a seed-to-harvest grow first. This way you can experience success as quickly as possible and enjoy homegrown flowers! Anyway, good luck! ![]()
I got a new toy today. 3 dabs and i spent the next couple of hours thinking to myself that 3rd one was a really bad idea lol. For anyone who likes rosin but doesn’t like a torch like me you should look into it.
That thing looks pretty badass! I’d be so fucked if I ripped that ![]()
I was for a little while there. Its been a long time since I have been high enough to think oh shit I might have a problem here. It was fucking great lol.
Thanks a lot! Your babies got off to a good start. Good luck with the Royal Runtz!
day 3 of flower and curious how im doing with the trellis net? whats you alls thoughts and advice ? ill show before and after tucking.
Looks pretty good really. In a few hours once they straiten back up you will be able to see any gaps you have and get an idea of where you are at with it
thats the impression i was under as well. figured lights off in 2 hours so tomorrow morning i was hoping to see anything i could fix and being first time trellis user i wasnt sure if it was decent or if needed some correction. much respect bud
Looks like mine when I do it. I think it’ll be a nice canopy.
niccce im glad to hear that lol. im digging the trellis nets alot less time consuming compared to tie downs
My only issue with them is harvest time but it’s honestly not that bad.
thats what ive read was sometimes a pain to get branches out but i assumed thats more with trying to pull the whole plant at once? i cut branches and use drying rack and also assumed that would help some come harvest
I have to use trellis with the auto-pot system. I’ve been getting 3x on stretch. Its honestly ridiculous. Trellis is a pain in the ass during harvest. But, its a time saver throughout the grow. Its easier for me to just have one day during harvest to deal with the trellis pains then to constantly keep training daily or often. I dont even check my plants daily. So that wouldn’t work for me. Depending on if you got the room I have to double trellis to keep it from growing into the light.
so i was actually thinking about buying two more trellis nets and think im going to tbh lol
i thought i may run into trouble with the beds and having the plants only spaced about a foot or so apart but surprisingly no issues and i also do fairly quick veg periods which may help but looking forward to seeing how they co exist together and the outcome bud
Yeah, i normally go 2 trellis. With this 2 plant pots I’m growing ill probably have to train them apart little. Then I’ll have to decide if I want to top them or just super crop them a little. I’ll make that decision as I go.
You’re still going to have to cut through the netting and it’ll be a struggle depending on if you have shoots from branch a in branch b’s hole. Honestly though it’s so worth the results.
