Can someone give me the best suggestion on a grow light for indoor growth
Buy once cry once would be HLG. Middle of the road would be ac infinity. Budget brands would be spider farmer or mars hydro.
I just upgraded to the hlg Diablo 350 for my 2x4 and it’s smokes my previous mars hydro ts2000. I’m fairly new to growing and could tell the difference as soon as I turned it on
They also have discount codes if you chat with them. I think they give 15% off
So let me give u some insight cause I’ve gone from a Donation light that didn’t even have the right specs, to the ones I’m currently using. So I’m assuming your going for a 200-300w light. 1st rule of thiumb, AVOID BLUE/PURPLE LIGHTING. ITS BULLSHIT!! You want something that’s full spectrum so it’ll look basically white to your eyes. So as @BluntForceTrauma420 said. There are different levels. But personally I LOVE ac infinity, spider farmer, mars hydro, and VIVOSUN. They are reputable brands, and useful for different setups, different needs. Like personally I’d recommend the little VIVOSUN for the little 100w, even their 200w light is good, probably best for a 2x3 to get the absolute most out of it for intensity. Personally mars hydro is possibly out in middle but of course based on which model. But spider farmer, I am actually a pretty big fan of the G4500 by Spider farmer, it has a dial so I can adjust intensity so I can dial stuff in for different parts of its life.
If you want the best recommendation give me a couple pieces of info first. How big are the tents your running? How many plants? How much are you REALISTICALLY tryna get? (I’d love to get 16 ounces from a 2x2 but that’s so unlikely because of spacing.) THE BIGGEST QUESTION IS: What is your budget realistically looking like. Are looking to only spend 100, 250, 400,500,1000? lol 1000 is a bit crazy but u get the idea. I can do what google does and tell u a hundred different ones but I wanna know what YOU are tryna look for out of it. And then the community can work its magic!
Don’t pay attention to that, seriously, it’s just a marketing tactic. VIVOSUN discounted never go away, these wonts one either. A deal isn’t a deal if that’s always the price u know?
Also I do like your choice, I think if that’s the one you have now I’d keep that, you got something good but personally a bit overpriced for what’s being offered. I feel like u may have been able to get something very, VERY similar in output and effects for about 1/2 the price, but a 330w in a 2x4 is GREAT, same as my G4500 plus with the dimmable switch like it says yours got.
But it looks like it may be a slight bit stronger than you’d want in a 2x4, veg space is 5x5 and flowering is 3x5, so bigger than your space. Personally I’d get a 4x4 and maybe try it in that and get the best of veg and flowering. But you made a good choice for a first light!
I’m running a 2x2 vivosun with 1 plant in it.
Virgin grower first timer. Looking to get a good pound atleast per harvest once I get to the point I know wtf I’m doing
I need all the help I can get
I just have the one that comes with it I think it says it’s 100w. Where can I get the 4x4 for cheap?
If you’re aiming for a pound per run you will probably want to jump to a 4×4, im not saying it isn’t possible in a 2×2 because I’ve seen it done but setting achievable goals is going to get you a lot further. I was running a viparspectra ks5000 in a 4×4 area and consistently pulling 1.5lb per run from that space. Its mostly going to come down to your budget and what else you need to add to get you to where you want to go with it.
Appreciate all the help brother. I have another question I need to buy some feminized seeds what’s the best place I can order them from?
Another guy was telling me I overpaid for that tent he said I could have got that quality for half the price so I wanted to know where from so I can order me a 4x4 ![]()
I like the ac infinity tents, I have their 5x5. They are a little pricey, but I live by the saying buy once cry once.
I just found a vivosun 4x4 for $500 can I get that and do everything I need to do in it? is the one you got cheaper or more expensive than that?
Tent only is $249, then kit with everything you need is around $1500. That’s a light, controller, 6" oscillating fan, exhaust fan, and charcoal filter.
I agree,MINIMUM to try to achieve would be a 2x4 or a 3x3, but might as well go to a 4x4 like u said. And 1.5lbs per run? Hell yeah, I’m tryna see if I can push past the 1oz per square foot barrier and each 1lbs in a 2x4 to hopefully do 2lbs in a 2x4 per cycle.
So if you look at the product, the one your looking at is likely a kit with 400w of mid tier lighting, we can do better. Persia lychees what I would do, I love the AC Infinity tents, I would get yourself a 2x4 to start or a 4x4 from them, just the tent, then seperwtely you’ll want to make sure you got at least 1- 6” exhaust fan kit. I again usually use AC unduly cause I like the all black look. But then you’ll want to look for a 300w light for the 2x4 with a dimmer switch to get the most out of the tent, and for the 4x4 you could easily just double up with 2 2x4 lights and run them on a dimmer. I have the G4500 by Spider Farmer and that thing is crazy, I am loving it, you could get 2 and run them both. You’ll want to have some oscillating fans in there to help move the air around so it’s not stale, find the ones you can mount to your corner poles. You can push that 4x4 to 800 watts but that pushin it, I’d run em both on dimmers, at max at like 60% and you’ll have complete control over your growth and setup.
But on a side not, you COULD just go for 1 big harvest at a times or run a 2x2 for Veg of a plant, run that 1 plant for 30 days for germination, seedling, and a couple weeks of veg, then put her in her final home and place her in a 2x4, and then start another plant, in 30 days when one flowering plant is half done you’ll move anew one in next to it, then every 30 days you can have a harvest of 1 plant, which is really good for a beginner.
But
Hey what do u think of a 2x4 ac infinity tent, a 300 light, 6” exhaust kit. Little $600 for that, then the nutrients, bits, etc, prob an extra ~$200, if he wanted to budget it and save for the upgrade. But yeah easily a 4x4 setup at $1200-$1500.
Also what do u think is more import, more plant bigger space? Or smaller but higher quality plant. I think as a beginner he is forgetting that getting slot of weed doesn’t always mean it’ll be the best. I’d rather get a qp for some AMAZING DISPENSARY TIER stuff, rather than a pound of some kids of a stressed to hermie plant.
I think he may do better to do single plants in perpetual, and then upgrade once he’s got some really good bud growing down and then he can scale up.
Don’t want him overspending and not getting what he wants out of it.
Some people do it as you’re suggesting. Personally I dove in head first with a real tent once I had completed a shitty wardrobe grow. I had a few small harvests at first but I didn’t have to buy a new setup as my skills grew. That’s why I like the buy once cry once. Although I just ordered a 10x10 ![]()
I know it’s great marketing but I got a top notch light with a 5 year warranty for $440 out the door. For me, that was worth it.
When I sent the message before was a bit high and confused u and the original poster. But for what u got u wouldn’t have to upgrade likely even if u go to a 3x3 or 4x4. It ain’t a bad choice at all tho, didn’t mean to come across rude. He’s just saying he’s a beginner and $440 for a light can be a lot for the “Virgin grower” as OP said lol. But it’s a solid lite a new company imma be looking for into, and with a 5 year warranty u got peace of mind with purchase.
