It would be really nice if one could download their Growlogs as a beautiful PDF anytime to collect their Growlogs, it is possible to download a PDF of the Growlog via the browser, but it’s not visually appealing, a representation like the original with all information and texts would be nice.
Hi, I’m not exactly a computer expert, but I thought you could retrieve your current grow journals and convert them to PDF format? If so, I think it’s a shame because I used to keep paper journals, and they take up a lot of space, which is why I chose to use the app to preserve them over time.
Thank you very much for your comments. The team is working on exportation tools for further releases, but I will show them this conversation to let them know you support the idea.
What I also wanted to ask, when I use the app, it’s possible to choose different languages so that the user’s native language can be used in the layout. However, if I now take the link to publicly present a Growlog, the language used in the layout is displayed in English (online in the browser). Can this be uniformly designed so that the setting with the respective user setting in the app is also automatically used publicly and displayed for shared Growlogs, or, for example, add a kind of translator tool so that everyone can view, understand, and possibly grasp tips and tricks internationally?
For example, I write my logs in German and somewhere country flags are displayed which stand for respective translations, and all logs with content and layout are translated into the desired language?
It would be helpful if the pH value section also included a separate section for wastewater.
And for the Pro version, to further distinguish itself from all other apps, it would be very good if you would integrate a PPFD meter into the app. Of course, these are never as accurate as real ones, but they can be perfectly fine as reference values.
An extra section similar to the Grow Doc app, with an AI that helps recognize plant diseases / pests / problems and offer solutions, that would also enormously increase the market value of your app, and if you make this available worldwide in all languages, then I would say you have the best Grow Guide App worldwide and could become a huge company and, as the world’s leading Grow Guide App, be the Facebook of the cannabis industry. With some marketing and advertising, user numbers will explode, just like Pro subscriptions. Just a tip, as the app really has potential. However, I would wish that the mentioned PDF option is also available in the free version, which also gives you the advantage that users automatically do much more advertising for you, as nobody really wants 1000 pictures in a folder and many would love a sorted list as a reminder or for later display.
Here for the posts, yes, but I mean in the app itself when you want to look at other people’s Growlogs without having to leave the app, of course it’s also possible to open the Growlog with the browser and, for example, have the page translated with Opera, or even easily create PDF files from the Growlog, but neither of these is properly implemented when you do it via the browser, therefore, directly integrated options within the app would be much simpler and probably better implemented.
The layout is in my native language German, as I set it in the app’s settings, but unfortunately, the written text is in English. My English is personally not grammatically correct, and I don’t speak Spanish or French at all, for example. If the app were to display and directly translate all Growlogs into the app’s standard primary language, that would be a huge advantage.
For example, if you’re on the bus or during a work break, you want to view some Growlogs for fun, and someone approaches you who, for instance, doesn’t really understand the written content in German because they’re from Turkey or Mexico, and they pluck up the courage because they’re interested in the tips or techniques they’ve seen and want to understand them, it would be advantageous to have a button directly in the Growlog that can quickly change the language for the layout and text. This would not affect the standard settings but would only apply to the actively viewed Growlog.
Has the new update already been released?
I was able to do an update recently, but changes or the PDF option are not yet available to me. By the way, I don’t use Google Play either; I prefer downloading the app as an APK. Would it be possible for you to provide an APK file for it on your website, or do you personally distribute exclusively through Google Play?
Hey friend, thanks for asking. At the moment, we only distribute the Android app through the official Google Play channel.
We’re not able to provide a direct APK download from our website or distribute APKs privately. Doing so would create distribution and compliance issues for us, and it also makes it harder to ensure users receive trusted, up-to-date, and secure versions of the app.
So for now, the official supported way to install the app on Android is through Google Play. If that changes in the future, we’ll make it clear on our official channels.
3.0 is only available through the early access program of the Play Store for now. However we intend to do a full launch this week! You can keep yourself updated on this post, on both timeline and features included: Grow with Jane v3.0 Early Access is now open
The option to save one’s Growlogs entirely as a nice PDF file is unfortunately still missing; I’ll test the Grow Assistant a bit right away, but I find it a bit of a shame that the PDF option is not included, or did I simply not find the option?
Hi! Thanks for bringing this up, I totally get why having your Growlog as a PDF is useful. Right now, it’s not available directly inside the app, but you can still export it from your browser. Here’s how:
Open your Growlog in a browser (phone or computer)
Make sure you’re logged in
Go to the Growlog you want
Use the Print option
Select “Save as PDF”
That should generate your PDF
This works well as a workaround while the team continues working on upcoming updates. Thank you for your feedback, we really appreciate it
As I already mentioned at the top, I am aware that this PDF creation option exists, but unfortunately, not all included photos are displayed, and this PDF is also not visually appealing.
Furthermore, I am rather disappointed with the built-in AI; it’s a shame that everything runs on credits or tokens again, as you can also use free recognition apps that provide similar diagnoses. The basis is good, but fundamentally, I find the update not mature enough and too profit-oriented. Of course, the company needs to earn money, but that should be covered by subscriptions.
Hi my friend, thanks a lot for taking the time to share such a detailed feedback
We hear you about the PDF export. We know the current version isn’t enough yet (especially in terms of visuals and included photos), and improving this is definitely something we’re interested in working on.
Regarding the AI update, it’s still very recent. We really rely on user feedback to keep improving and maturing it, so if you’re open to it, we’d truly appreciate any specific comments about your experience using it.
On the cost side: while some AI tools may appear free, they always have an underlying cost, and usage can’t be unlimited in the long run. In Jane, the AI is also free to use, but it does have a limit. For subscribers, that limit is set quite high, have you actually reached it? So far, we’re not aware of users hitting that ceiling.
At the moment, subscriptions are our only stable source of income, and they’re what allow us to keep building and improving the app.
We’re continuously working to make Jane better, and we really hope those improvements become more visible on your end over time. Thanks again for helping us get there
