Zeigt her eure Lady's

Good morning, and again the heat has receded, but an incredibly high humidity remained.

So I opened the tent a bit and ensured a breezy day. Exhaust air higher, both fans on 4.

The Mexican one is brutal. It’s still shooting up incredibly fast.

First, I’ll observe and let a few more days pass.

Now I’m getting ready and first I’m going out with Gizmo.

I wish you a nice day.

Yep, here I am again, and today it was time for some bottom watering again, so the Auto Pots were flooded twice, and I believe they’d take even more, because both times the trays were quickly empty. At least the front ones. I don’t feel like crawling around in the cramped space below. And the high humidity doesn’t want to go down today. Outside it was around 90% and is still around 66% now, and that’s pulling through the whole place. There it’s around 63% plus, they’re transpiring, and I can’t get below 70% in the tent.

I now have the small dehumidifier running in the grow room, the tent is open at the bottom so that the air is drawn in from the somewhat dried air of the dehumidifier, and now I’m already down to just 65%.

Today I could only release the predatory mites because the nematodes haven’t arrived yet, even though they were processed on 26.8 at 4 AM in the Koblenz mail center and should have been delivered the same day. I’ve now contacted the seller because without cooling for several days, it’s now just trash. They can have them back if they ever arrive here, who knows when.

As you can see, simply on the soil, a few small piles, and they can swarm out, and some was left over, which will go into new soil, in new pots for cuttings tomorrow.

1756384060834

Here it’s the left rear hedge - the awesome Mexican, and since this week, it’s no longer held back by the net and is shooting up. But a brutal stretch is written all over her.

Otherwise, overall, a magnificent sea of blossoms is growing together there.

1756384073692

Some larger leaves were gently removed again today, so that at least a little light can still get through. I still have the red clover on the soil below.

The cuttings have been standing since 19.8, nine days today, and I’ve taken a closer look at them.

20250828_134103

The air flap opened a bit wider so that the humidity inside goes down a bit further because;

20250828_133810

20250828_133828

they’re slowly stretching out and are hungry. Tomorrow there’ll be a water change, the pH will be freshly adjusted back to 6.2 or 6.3 with root stimulant and some growth fertilizer, because I think it’s starting now that they can absorb something through their roots. I also looked inside below today.

20250828_133908

No question, it’s doing what it’s supposed to, and not in three, four weeks, but also not in three, four days.

20250828_133952

20250828_134017

I’ll keep the cuttings for a bit longer, and the best, strongest ones will go into the next round in Light Mix with Hesi mineral in the smaller tent. Just something different for a change. I just hope the fertilizer bottles are still okay because they’ve been sitting for a long time. The TNT, there’s not much left in it anyway, and it’s not supposed to have a long growth phase anyway.

Great, the dehumidifier is proving very useful today; it’s getting a bit warmer but also drier. Then I wish you a nice day and happy growing. Pflanzenpaule

Hi Growlings :smiling_face_with_sunglasses::victory_hand:,

Quick update on the heating mat.

Sometimes you’re lucky without even knowing it.

I’ve been racking my brain for a while on how to solve this. And then the thought :brain::light_bulb:
I recently got some for what felt like 2.50 (it was more, but still cheap)
smart plugs on eBay to test them out. (Picture to follow in editing)
So, I can control the heating mat nicely via my phone. And look :eyes:, the associated app even has a timer integrated. Not only that. You can even set it up via your GPS location so that it always turns on at sunset and off at sunrise.

And I was like…

Everything’s Easy… :ok_hand::cloud::cloud::cloud:

In that spirit, have a great weekend everyone, your Dr. Weedenstein

Yeah cool

Initially, I had a wireless thermostat, with the sensor inside and connected to the power outlet outside.
It works with the infrared heater upstairs in the living room, or so you’d think. The wireless signal doesn’t get through the Mylar? coating inside the tent :joy:

Everything looks good on my end so far, no new pom-pom-like things discovered.

Compost extract prepared.
Like Paule in a nylon tea bag :joy: two different bags of compost and bat guano :poop: in the stocking.
With some nettle/cannabis leaf/horsetail/fern slurry and rennet/whey sugar syrup mix and enough water for all four plants on the balcony, it’s steeping. Stir occasionally, it’ll be ready tomorrow. I’ll distribute the contents from the stocking under the mulch if possible… or on top. We’ll see.

Week 4 of flowering has begun for the three Photos.
The Purple Punch in the front right is visibly further along

Good evening, gardeners near and far.

I had a good idea this morning. Instead of having the small dehumidifier standing in the room, I put it in the tent. But since noon, it’s been fine without it again.

I still had a few things to do.

Defoliated the ladies from below and inside above. Removed three thin, long shoots from the Jamaican plant that were spreading out under the net in the shade.

Because they didn’t want to grow tall, I made short work of them. The three are now also in the propagator.

It’s been running for ten days now, so I cleaned the thing today and gave it fresh water. This time, a bit more Hesi Root Complex, Zyme, and for those that already have small roots, some TNT, growth nutrient. Of course, the pH was set to 6.5.

Three 9-liter pots were also prepared today. 3 liters of coco coir, 4 liters of worm castings, 2 peat jiffy pellets thrown in without the casing, and three tablespoons of biochar. The rest was perlite from the open bag, 57 grams of Mycorrhiza and Trichoderma, and the remaining amount was Light Mix. Everything was thoroughly mixed into the pots, and predatory mites were added.

3-4 quite fat Alaska nightcrawlers were also added to each pot and thoroughly watered. I’ll pick out the best cuttings in the next few days.

Today, after 5 days of travel in too warm conditions and interrupted cooling, the nematodes arrived.

How else could it be?

20250829_174822

It was already just a sticky mess in the bag. It’s good when the carrier material is loose and powdery.

From experience, I saw what was coming.

20250829_175101

20250829_175000

20250829_175030

And as you can see, it no longer dissolved in water.

The product was junk, dead, useless.

Dead, confirmed by a look through the microscope.

Unfortunately, I already knew this yesterday and contacted support.

That one can no longer speak of quality when something is taken out of cooling and then lies around for several days in much too warm and high humidity conditions somewhere and doesn’t arrive.

The answer was that everything was okay and the sachets were breathable, and that it guaranteed 5 days of transport.

Today, I gave the appropriate review.

The pictures showed that nothing was in order, and I asked again what “breathable” has to do with temperature.

That DHL messes up, they can’t help that.

But they want to try and pull a fast one on me.

I think they’ll have to find another idiot. Now I’m curious about their response.

I paid good money and got crap because it was too long in too warm conditions, and I can remember times when such things were packed in cooling gel pads, and predatory mites and nematodes came in one shipment.

Then it would have been here 3 days ago and in order.

If someone then wants to market “quality airs” to me, which I didn’t ask for. Mmmh, one could…

That’s exactly how I saw it coming as the days passed and nothing arrived.

Because I haven’t been working with beneficial insects just since yesterday, and it’s already expensive enough.

Good thing I still had some predatory mites in the can, which then landed on the moist soil of the three new pots. A bag of Dope Soil ready mix.

After that, I’m done, and I’m switching to mineral. Then you can dump neem oil into the soil, and gnats are flattened.

Maybe my substrate will only be water in the future, we’ll see.

There’s no gnat problem yet.

But such crap can quickly become a problem, and I experience it again and again. Sad but true!

Wishing you a pleasant night’s rest.

Paule

@Pflanzenpaul I set a trap for the mosquitoes with vinegar, sugar, and dish soap. Also works with wine and fruit juice. The rest got stuck in the traps. No new ones have appeared since. Hydroponics won’t come into my house, and mineral growing definitely not. Constantly measuring everything, and finally flushing, is not for me; it wasn’t an option 20 years ago either. For me, everything stays in soil, and very importantly, organic.

Apart from that, I also wouldn’t have space for hydro. But to each their own

Hey there

Now the problem is that you can’t properly reach many parts of the raised bed anymore.

But you’ve got plenty in store to spray like crazy.

You write that even 20 years ago, mineral was not an option for you.

So you’re not the youngest anymore either?

After I added a little TNT during the water change in the propagator, the cuttings on the stem are turning greener again.

Of the 2 cuttings that are already in soil, one is drooping a bit. It was probably a bit too early to pot them, which caused a bit too much stress. Let’s wait and see if it recovers. In the flowering tent, I haven’t done much for two days, not even looked much, to leave everything in peace because Saturday, flowering day 20, is when lollipopping is planned, where everything under the net will be stripped bare.

Humidity was now at 54 - 60%, day/night, and at 26 - 28 degrees, that’s actually perfectly fine.

The main tap is open until noon so they can drink and the soil gets saturated with water for a few days.

The flower formations are now getting bigger and today is flowering day 14.

Paule wishes you a nice Sunday

Yes, the old man and his Ridgeback  it’s even almost 25 years ago, when I had a large balcony.

I did everything organic from the start. Why should I work with artificial fertilizer when nature gives me everything I need. Weed, poppies, tomatoes, a wall of colorful flowers. I even topped the flowers in the balcony boxes. That was a privacy screen of colorful blossoms. About 1.50m high and netted. A real colorful sea of blossoms.

Hey @Smokey101

yes, unfortunately, it went very badly again. Here in our country, everything is getting more and more expensive, and everyone tries to save money. Unfortunately, this also applies to specialists who simply send chilled goods unchilled, hoping that it will go well and the customer won’t notice that the goods are spoiled due to being warm for too long. Previously, there were always cool gel packs included, but not anymore. There’s a great note that not every application is crowned with success due to certain environmental conditions. And that’s exactly where it starts, that chilled goods were warm for too long due to slow postal shipping.

If you’ve been working with this kind of thing for a long time, you also deal with topics like fungus gnats, thrips, etc., and beneficial insects, and I don’t just use the microscope for trichome ripeness determination. There’s just a lot of interesting stuff to see with it.

So I quickly realized that every second nematode order causes problems.

And that makes it expensive in the long run. But I want quality for my money, and with quality, you also get success.

However, I received an email today, after I informed them of the receipt, that the nematodes had not survived 5 days of delivery time in too warm conditions, and they promised that fresh goods would be sent directly to me today. They always do that.

Still annoying because it disrupts my pest control plan. The trichomes will start soon, and who wants flies in their vegetables then? I also prefer to work preventively. Oh well, at least it went well with the predatory mites in the end, and it remains to be hoped that the shipment will go better now.

Greetings from Pflanzenpaule

I don’t know what weed was like in the Stone Age, but as a Neanderthal, I might have looked like this :backhand_index_pointing_down:

Pflanzenpaule , ein Neandertaler 1.9.25

Hey there, dear Grow Community. Today, on day 62, the third week of flowering has begun, as it is flowering day 15, and everything has nicely spread over the Scrog in the last week, where I didn’t bring anything else to the net. Yesterday, the Auto Pot was briefly open, flooding the trays, and today it was open a bit longer, so some of them received two floodings today. Just before lights out, all trays were empty again. I prefer to control the whole thing myself by turning the tap on and off because there are already problems with high humidity. Since yesterday, I’ve also had the small dehumidifier running so that it doesn’t constantly stay above or around 70%.

What’s working well for me right now is the temperature of 26 to 28 degrees Celsius, and a relative humidity (RH) of 52% to 62% is still quite okay, which you can also see with the ladies. I took some pictures again today! Oh yes! Generally, the humidity is an issue again because at night outside, it goes up to around 90%, and earlier, around 3 PM, it was still 71%. That then also pulls into the apartment, where it’s still around 60 to 63%, plus the transpiration in the tent. All that remains is the hope that nothing molds. From that perspective, it looks very good because they are very mold-resistant strains. The lamp distance today is 36 cm for the longest tip, and most of the rest are standing at about 40 to 43 cm under the lamp, which is radiating at 80%.

Lollipoppen is planned for Saturday, which would be flowering day 20, the third week of flowering. After that, the stretch should also come to an end. So I’ll see how high it still gets before lollipoppen. Maybe I’ll remove the Scrog so I can better access each pot from below. But as a support at the end and as a guide for me, it’s also very useful because I’m really aiming to cut out all the shoots and leaves under the net anyway. It’s supposed to get even better at the top.

So I think, for flowering day 15, it already looked wonderfully beautiful to me today!

Here’s the Amnesia Pro

Tag 62 Amnesia 1.9.25

Tag 62 Blüte Tag 15 am 1.9.25

Here’s an environment photo with the Amnesia front left, behind it the Mexican Sativa. Front right Fast Diesel and behind it the Jamaican Pearl. :backhand_index_pointing_down:

Tag 62 Amnesia vorne links, dahinter Mexican, vorne rechts Fast Diesel, dahinter Jamaican

The Fast Diesel, and here I can see quite well that the Living Soil is a bit stronger than it was with the last one. Because this one is one of those that stretched terribly, if you just look back at how long I kept its shoots under the net. It still stands as one of the tallest, looking good, and it can still stretch for another 1 to 2 weeks. The little buds are practically beaming at me, and I find them very advanced for this time.

Tag 62 Fast Diesel 1.9.25

Tag 62 Blüte Tag 15 am 1.9.25

and here’s another environment picture from flowering day 15 :backhand_index_pointing_down:

Tag 62 ein Schnappschuss von der Blüte Zeit fast am Ende des ersten drittel 1.9.25

As already described, the Mexican Sativa is also very brutal in its stretch, and it continues to grow taller, with some tips already only 36 cm under the light.

Tag 62 Blüte Tag 15 am 1.9.25

Tag 62 Mexican Sativa 1.9.25

Tag 62 die dritte Blüte Woche hat begonnen

Since everything is going well so far, I will probably stick with the lamps at 80% dimming. Going higher would only bring more heat and risk bleaching the flowers. This way, it’s also over 400 watts, and that’s more than enough. Soon, the scent should become even more intense, and the first trichomes should appear. I haven’t checked for them yet though.

Finally, the Jamaican Pearl. :backhand_index_pointing_down:

Tag 62 am 1.9.25

Tag 62 Jamaican , die dritte Blüte Woche ist gestartet

Tag 62 Blüte Tag 15 am 1.9.25

A lot of it also came well over the Scrog, but it’s a bit lower compared to the other three. Therefore, there will be a bit more to remove under the net for her, and I hope that there will be further growth upwards once there’s nothing left to supply below.

Next week after lollipoppen, there will be compost tea again.

So far, a small report from my grow! Happy growing, Stay High, and a good evening wishes Pflanzenpaule

Yes, it looks great, I’m surprised myself and the day of lollipoping is getting closer. Then the humidity in the tent will also go down a bit, because it’s brutal with 4 Auto Pots in 120 x 120 and then all that leaf mass. The tent is now open without a dehumidifier, will it now go below 60%? I just turned the dimmers up a bit and am now running at 85%.

Let’s see how they like it, and if it gets warmer again, I can turn it down a few percent for that time.

You also have more leaves starting again, just let it be. Leaves are the engine!

It’s also developing better and better for you.

To a wonderful harvest with lots of juice in the flowers. The Fast Diesel and Mexican are still growing taller, but I checked again. There’s still room at the top. :joy:

Now Gizmo has to go out and I still have something to do for an older lady and her Alibert light. That thing is 25 years old and the fluorescent tube was broken. Now it’s only available as an LED tube and she had the wrong starter for it. Nothing works then, but it will again soon.

Have a nice day, see you then, wishes Paule

Well, a bit late with watering today, but DHL announced they’ll deliver the new nematodes soon, and fittingly, all sensors show a soil moisture below 30%. So, 4 liters of water are ready with 15 ml molasses/lab, 10 ml soil conditioner with living soil bacteria, 10 ml EM Active. This will be sprayed onto the soil in stages so that the tops of the pots are also saturated with water again and moisture is provided for the nematodes that will then be introduced.

In addition, a top dress will be applied today. 4 jars are ready, each with the same amount and ingredient, which will be spread on the soil before spraying.

3.6 gr. phosphorus rock flour with calcium,

3.3 gr. potash = potassium carbonate,

1.4 gr. magnesium sulfate,

1 gr. garden lime - carbonic lime 95% calcium carbonate, pH stabilizing,

and to attract the bacteria,

1.5 gr. organic baking malt and 2 gr. organic protein powder. For hopefully stable branches capable of holding thick fruits stiffly towards the sky.

The humidity finally dropped back to a quite pleasant 54 - 56% today, and mmh yeah, I actually didn’t want to go higher, but now with slightly milder outdoor temperatures, it could get a bit warmer in the tent, and I did go up to 85% with the dimmer. Should it get warmer outside again, one can dim down again to avoid heat stress. Currently, they seem to be enjoying it.

So, I have to spray before the light goes out! Best regards from Pflanzenpaule

It’s a joke. According to the tracking, DHL was in Burgstraße, one street below me, for almost 2 hours with 8 more deliveries.

Now the message: it’s coming tomorrow.

They can’t get anything done anymore.

But I don’t care anymore. The item is broken again. There will be another complaint.

It’s ridiculous if someone is too stupid to deliver packages.

I hope I see him tomorrow!

Sad but true. It looked like they would arrive within a day this time. But
