And here I am again, and the day is drawing to an early evening. Greetings!
So my words became deeds, and I checked the three environments.
Let’s start with the third and smallest environment, the “Propagator.”
The three Cookie OG clones still look alive today, on day 9 of rooting. Three days ago, I peeked into the lower part of the stems, and unfortunately, there were no roots visible yet.
Tomorrow I have to empty the solution anyway and refill with fresh water after cleaning. So, I didn’t disturb the internal climate today.
In the box, the temperature is 23.5 degrees Celsius and the RH is 85%. The water has a temperature of 24.9 degrees Celsius. All good.
I think they still look like they did on day 1. I’m curious if roots will be visible tomorrow. I didn’t use Clonex this time.
With the Bubble Gum, things went quickly. Although the top layer of soil is bone dry.
But when I put the long stick a few cm deep into the soil, it was in the green, and even deeper, in the blue. So, at least in the root zone, both pots were saturated.
Therefore, I poked three deep holes in each pot with the stick so that the soil can ventilate better.
One should use what one can more often to prevent overwatering. Unfortunately, I haven’t used it for a while.
No wonder they sometimes show that something is missing or too much. Hahahaha, there I go again
.
I’m quite high right now and able to laugh heartily at my own foolishness.
Alright, on to the next round. The three in the vegetative phase. Yep, what I saw right away!!!
They don’t need water, because they had too much
2 days ago.
So here too, I poked deep with the long test stick. Three deep holes in the soil of each pot, so air can get in and moisture can evaporate.
Like in life; sometimes you have too much and sometimes nothing!
Well, with the plants, it’s like that again.
What is too much for one, is good for another. And I saw that clearly.
Today, day 37, vegetation day 19, the Jamaican shows clear signs of overwatering.
The Strawberry shows less of it, and the Cookie OG shows none at all and has also gained 11 cm in height since the last measurement 4 days ago.
Today at 38 cm height. The Strawberry only gained 4.5 cm, now at 30 cm height.
The Jamaican was at 35 cm today and gained 6 cm despite overwatering, but it shows it on some leaves.
To get everything back on track faster, in addition to poking holes, the temperature was raised a bit, so they are now under 27.3 degrees Celsius, RH at 62.4%, which should help with faster evaporation and uptake.
The lamp distance was readjusted and reduced to 45 cm from the light, and the dimmers are at 50%, which should now be sufficient for the last days of vegetation.
I took a fan leaf from the very bottom, from the underwatering period, which remained somewhat yellowish, from the Strawberry and examined it more closely under a microscope. I didn’t find any critters or their traces, but I still sprayed this Leaf Coat on the plants and from below. A plant fortifier against insects and harmful leaf fungi. Provides 14 days of protection from dirt ![]()
Overall, looking back 10 days, the three have generally grown quite well, apart from minor things that didn’t go smoothly, and everything so far is still treatable.
The Jamaican Pearl today
the lower yellow was still from the too-dry phase
The Strawberry Kush
is increasingly taking the shape of a small Christmas tree. I initially wanted to tie down and pull the lower branches outwards a bit. But somehow I like the shape. It’s probably just its way of growing.
The Cookies OG
you can see that I’ve also declared war on the ground cover and really trimmed that stuff down.
As soon as it’s time to water, there will be smaller amounts again, and I will expose the soil around the stems and work 1% solid fertilizer into the soil around the stems of each pot. Then cover again with trimmings.
Then, have a nice evening and a big thank you again to those who gave me their votes. It shows me that my contributions are also appreciated.
Keep up the great work! Greetings from Pflanzenpaule
