Nicely explained  Thanks, chemistry friend @Dbe

Good. But.

On my refill package it says: “removes odors”

Does it perhaps eat the terpenes after all? :joy:
They’re volatile, those little beasts

And what about hydrodynamics? When water is bound, a kind of suction effect is created.

If the terpenes are already in the air due to the temperature then those would definitely be absorbed but without direct contact with the silica package it should not be possible to draw terpenes directly from the flowers themselves. The silica is only absorbing what is already in the air.

@Crackadoo
Yes, that’s how I see it too. A loss of terpenes always goes hand in hand with drying. So the art lies in capturing and preserving the terpenes in the bud by drying slowly with stable values, so that they essentially seal themselves in the bud, to achieve the highest terpene content.
The very best would be shock-freeze drying. But these devices are incredibly expensive.
Now I’ve read something about 60/60 drying not being the best either. 60 Fahrenheit approx. 15.3 degrees Celsius and 60% humidity.
But I still need to work my way through some more information to be able to say more about it.
With drying, it’s also the case that what’s good for one plant during drying isn’t so good for another.
It probably also has to do with the type of terpenes.
Then, Paule wishes you a good morning and a good start to the day.

Hi, very nice garden! I also use identical Airepots. However, in the photo with your clone, the Airepot should have been upside down. The part without the drainage hole should be filled with water so that when you water, the water can be absorbed everywhere. You’ll really see the difference.

Hey @ADjahrasta, welcome to the page.
Thanks for the info that I probably had the Airpot upside down. Generally, I think I only used it twice and don’t even remember which clone was in it to check it again so I can avoid that next time. But actually, I had Airbase in it and occasionally blocked the irrigation when I added compost tea from above into the soil to avoid overwatering. Then the trays below were empty at times.
Like everything new in life, you have to get into new things yourself first, and here I probably also had too little perlite or expanded clay in the soil. Because I find it difficult as they write 50% soil and 50% perlite.
Then I would only have 10 liters of soil in a 20-liter pot. But well, a bit less perlite also didn’t lead to the best results. I’ll start with that again when I have the dehumidifier which I can control via AI. With 4 x 20 L in 120 x 120, I always struggled with very high humidity, which can then be handled with the device.
I’ve already secured the complete Bio Tabs range to supply a different soil with it so it can run with just water without pH and EC testing.
If you have good Air Pot tips, perhaps also some visual examples.
Always appreciated! We all never stop learning. Greetings from Pflanzenpaule

Yoo-hoo and a wonderful good day to you, and
“My mind is blown” (literally: the sheet metal flies off me) My dear old chap, that really hits me.
Today I did a water test of the tap water.
Fresh from the tap, I measured an EC of 0.5 and the PH value was 7.9.
I was toying with the idea of a small osmosis filtration system from Amaklone.
But then I got the Blita 8 l water filter container filters, which are supposed to filter out lime, chlorine, minor impurities, and medication residues.
I had used it for a while at the beginning of the Bubble Gum (cultivation) and then stopped because when adding fertilizer to the filtered water, the pH always dropped so much that I would have needed pH Up rather than pH Minus. Unfiltered, the pH was fine even with fertilizer.
But soon, in the new fresh Living Soil, there’s no need for fertilizers that would influence pH, and today I noticed something amazing.
I filled one liter of this previously tested water into the upper chamber and, once it had run through filtered, let it run into the cup and tested it again.
The EC was now 0.4 from 0.5!
Even more impressive was the pH drop, as it was only pH 6.8 from the previous 7.9.
It dropped by 1.1.
Now, the thing is that under LED, an EC of 0.6 is ideal.
So the idea is maturing to counteract calcium magnesium problems by mixing 30 gr of garden lime into each 20 l pot, which purely organically provides calcium and magnesium little by little.
And then the water for the living Soil would be perfect.
An osmosis filter system would also not be additionally necessary, as it would only be needed if the EC was above 0.5.
And we sing _ “At night, when everyone sleeps, you should be with me” - My phone. :exploding_head:
:innocent: :joy:
Yep, I’m just studying again. Reading here at night, hour after hour.
Hoping it helps!
I think today is a quiet day because I’ll only distribute water tomorrow.
I’d love to check under the propagator pot holder to see if the roots have grown. But I also don’t want to upset the climate, the high humidity.
Not even for 5 minutes. I’ll just let myself be surprised in a few days whether it’s worth putting them in soil.
I think it’s time to grant myself a midday nap now.
Have a nice day, see you soon, Pflanzenpaule

My boy ,
I mentioned that earlier in passing.
I’m reading, I’m studying.
Generally, liquid CalMag is advised against “for organic cultivation, in Super Soil with bacteria and fungi”
because most of them introduce salts which restrict or completely halt soil life. Similarly, chlorine in tap water is harmful. But since I always let 10 liters of water evaporate for at least 1 day, and run it through a filter, that’s not a problem. Alternatively, aerate the water for 2 hours and chlorine was history.
I still dream of thigh-thick buds. :joy:.
Oh yeah, good that you mention the dolomite lime.
I have to check in the cabinet tomorrow. It’s a garden lime from Dehner and has a high calcium content, and I need to check for Mag. If necessary, the right one can be quickly organized.
Today it was Gizmo’s turn to be spoiled with treats.
So, he got a share of my winnings and it was well spent.

It was a good deal, 15 euro voucher, redeemable from 30 euro purchase. I got treats for almost 32 euros and only had to pay 16. Half price = half free.
The scoundrel. He comes to cuddle and then wants a reward for cuddling.
So, the thing with the lime is even in the instructions on how to best apply these Bio Tab and the accessories, and also in the Auto Pot.
When that starts, I’m curious how it will be.
A bit different but still Living Soil.
On Sunday I’ll take the time to take nice trichome pictures with the larger microscope on the microphone boom stand.
The Big Bud is taking its time though.
I think it still has many new bright pistils.
I would leave it standing a bit longer than a few days.
So, I’m back in the “I’m trying to educate myself” background.
Paule wishes you a nice evening

Tell me about it. Maybe too cold at the foot. It was standing 10-15 cm too low for a long time until I found something to raise it. But since then, it’s been picking up. Yeah, that’s what I’m saying, a few days. :joy:

Well, what was lacking at the start is now catching up.
Oh, I don’t think you’re older than me. I’m now pushing 55.
You’re not 70!
I’ve also read again regarding Auto Pots and the living organisms in the soil. To get the best results, a temperature of 25 - 3

Nothing will accumulate in the tray there. In a normal refrigerator, this is for condensation and usually evaporates due to the refrigerator’s operating temperature (motor). If anything, so little accumulates that it’s barely noticeable. With the Canatrol, it’s probably different; it likely has something to do with its specific mechanism. I have no idea how it works; if it’s essentially like a refrigerator, I find that quite a lot of water @Pflanzenpaul

Morning, morning
I believe @KilliczGe, your eyes were faster when reading and my brain didn’t grasp the meaning.
Just part of the aging process too!
Hahaha.
Oh, our Snake was here once.
Yeah, the thing with the fridge is clear.
With the Cannatrol, it expels the water from the buds out the back, which are tiny amounts day by day. But completely normal.
So, I’ll start my day now. See you then, says Paule

Perhaps it’s better this way, so the good stuff doesn’t pick up the taste

Yeah, uh.

She said maybe there’ll be a new device sometime.
Practically, it worked, 3-4 days and the leaves were well dried.

A beautiful good evening. Today was an action-packed day.
Again, a sad trip to the grave. More so as a last honor, what you do when you know someone and their family.
Then it was feeding day for the Bubble Gums, and in stages, 2.4 liters went into each pot without drain.
Today they are 67 days old since the seeds germinated. So, for 62 days, they have been visible above ground.
Flowering Day 42 is coming to an end, and with it, the 6th flowering week.
Tomorrow, the 7th flowering week begins. I think these beasts still need about 2 - 3 more weeks.
So, time for a bit more to develop.
Bubble Gum 1

I find that nice flower spacing has still formed, and the glitter is already becoming visible.

Many pistils are still light, they will remain so for some time.
Bubble Gum 2 seems a little further along to me.
I also believe their general color is improving because watering and nutrients are going a little better.

Now, all that’s left is to wait.
Probably 2 - 3 more times with nutrients, and then 1 - 2 weeks of just water.
Now, another 5 days have passed today. When I cleaned and refilled the propagator.
There was no Hesi Wurzel Complex; instead, I added Clonex Gel to the water.
5 days ago, 2 of the clones had tiny root beginnings, and one clone had nothing. Now, after a few days with Clonex, I had to check.
And all three Cookies OG clones are rooting. Day 15 of rooting, they look very fit from the top.
Clone 1, the former main tip

Simply roots excellently!
Clone 2 had nothing 5 days ago

and now wants to be preserved after all.
Clone 3
already showed signs 5 days ago that it wanted to root.

and it still wants to.
I only wanted two. :joy:
Flawless!
And yes, the Growth Center also needed watering.
Each pot received 1.4 liters of filtered water, pH 6.8, EC 0.4 with 7 ml molasses/Lab, 1.5 ml EM Aktiv, and 15 ml urea / pee without medication residues.
into the Super Earth.
Actually, Mycorrhiza should have been added, which I simply forgot. The day after tomorrow then!
Overall, it doesn’t look bad at all. I think the Jamaican finds the mix a bit too strong. But she is growing.
And all of them have gained almost the same amount of height in the last 3 days.
The Strawberry 5 cm.
The Jamaican 5 cm.
The Cookies OG 6.5 cm.
Thus, the Strawberry, actually the smallest, has grown a bit faster again.
The Strawberry went from 34.5 to 39.5 cm.
The Jamaican went from 40 to 45 cm, and the Cookies OG went from 45 to 51.5 cm.
Today they are 43 days old since the seed went into soil and have been visible above ground for about 40 days.
Growth Day 25, the light distance is now set to 50 cm today, and the dimmers at 50%.
The Strawberry Kush

After the pictures, I removed 4 large fan leaves from her. 2 in the upper and 2 in the middle area.
Still growing like a Christmas tree. :joy:
The Jamaican

As I said, a bit stressed, probably the soil is too strong, but she is growing, so I’ll let her be.
The Cookies OG

Her soil was dry again, so she’ll get a bit more water now.
Actually, she would be at a height to slowly reduce the light hours now. But I’m keeping all of them in growth for now.
We’ll see how much longer.
When the clones are ready, they will go into 2% living soil to continue rooting and get used to it, and then into 20 l pots with 10 l = 10% at the bottom and the upper 10 l = 5% mix and fresh.
We’ll see how the Cookies OG clones cope with that. But the roots should still become bigger, longer, and stronger.
So now the day is complete. And with best regards, I’m off. Pflanzenpaule

Evening folks, hope you’re all doing well. The Banana Purple Punch and Papaya Cookies are done and hanging to dry. Approx. 150 g per plant in dryferm, the rest classically on the whole plant.

PC

BPP

Mimosa Orange Punch and Glue Gelato are also almost finished. I have switched to final part solution.

MOP

My little ones are also doing very well, Flowering Day 6.

Runtz F1 and

Milky Way F1, that one is front left.

Hello @Johnnyjoejackson
Looks good.

Please let me know how the Dryferm performs.
I’ve already looked at them too :joy:

Today, only water is being given, as some dry fertilizer with new mycorrhiza and co. was added to the soil last week.

Daughter Big Bud all alone in the “small” tent.

Yesterday, I placed the heating mat upright between the pots, with the temp sensor in the pot, and set it to 22 degrees.

Now that cold foot issue is slowly resolving :foot:t5::joy::four_leaf_clover:

Tangerine Dream bloom clone
Some light burn, but otherwise forming flowers quite well.

Permanent Marker clone 1
Just like mom, proper flower development.

Purple Zkittlez 1 clone 1
Likewise, magnificent buds just like mom.

Dantes Inferno - Mile High Dave cut something.

Flowers are growing moderately, but endless frost. Let’s see how it turns out in the end.

And the Big Bud, got another 600ml of water today and now nothing more

So far for Sunday.
Hope the heating mat is enough.
Don’t feel like laying an extension cord behind the tent to put in the second one :joy:
But it should be fine.
