L.O.S. second run

So the GDP has been harvested and in the jars ready for my disposal. Dried I got 5+ oz. not including the small bottom growth I had snipped off earlier in its final stages which I would estimate at another half or so.

Best coloration of the whole plant:

I think the true acid test of a soil would be in ensuing grows to see if I can get a self-generating source of organic matter from within the soil using nothing but what nature normally provides outdoors. I’ve left the roots of the previous plants in and transplanted the seedlings after a top dress of kelp, alfalfa, neem and karanja. I thought I would need more worms in there but they were still at the top few inches, a little pissed at the dusting of dry amendments I gave them. They just writhe around until I spray them down then calmly burrow back in.

Chamomille is starting to bloom but no basil. I think the seeds were old at 2 years.

My Blueberry OG @week 2:

Got more basil going in here though. Should be interesting. Those little ceramic pots you see contain baby aloe vera, another plant that is useful for soil growers. Not only does it provide nutrients of its own, but the gel within the spears can be used to help guard against soil getting hydrophobic. Scrape off about a 1T into 1L, blend well and water. Works wonders for your skin too. Cheers.

The last of my GDP seeds. Not impressed with breeder at all. Of the 10 regular seeds, 6 failed to germinate, 1 male and these last three. Of the three, the first had hardly any scent or trichs, the second was better but this third…I don’t know what the hell happened.

I had to super-crop the main stem three times and it still reached up. It’s now at 6" with surprisingly little obvious distress. I don’t know what will happen once it matures. Buds are awful sticky and pungent at week 7. It’s one of the few times I had to do a major defoliation. It turned out like a shrub. This may be a good plant to try out my new bubble bags.

Meanwhile, the WW and BOG are still puttering along:

Just an update on the girls:

White Widow @ week 9 waiting for its turn in the tent:

Canopy is about 30" in diameter so she should fit right in that 3x3. Somehow I managed to get the canopy even with room for adjustment if necessary. I started building a screen but this method seems to work as well for me. I’ll soon see…

Meanwhile the Blueberry OG (3-1/2 weeks) is growing nicely along the chamomille and basil I planted:

Happy growing!

I decided to tuck the WW under the GPD’s canopy and luckily she fit right in.

Here is when multiple lights can be advantageous. I could fit the other TS1000 in there if I wanted. Curious to see the final effect on bud quality with a total 600 watts. I may have to try it with the Blueberry OG once that’s mature.

GDP is at week 9-1/2 while the WW is 9 weeks old.

White Widow @ week 2:

I can see that this mix is going to need more top dressing than usual. I’ve noticed N def with some older leaves already yellowing and the whole plant looks lighter green. I’ve topdressed with kelp, alfalfa and guano and still found a need for more N. Hopefully the feather meal I had is enough to bring N levels back up. Otherwise, I’d have to resort to fish emulsion which stinks. Oh well…

The Blueberry OG is purring along in the closet with its’ companion plants.

Cheers.

White Widow Week 5:

The cola in the center of the last pic is actually the main cola which never stretched as I had hoped.

Temps have been brutal this past week, hovering in the low 90s. I guess I really have no choice but to get an A/C unit if I want to continue growing during summer.

Buds actually started forming 9 days from flip and trichs are just now starting to form up. I’ve had to nurse this plant along, suffering from N def late in veg then Ca and Mg def early in flower. I guess this means that 7G is not big enough to sustain itself. I would need to let it sit for about a month and let the worms and microbes work on the roots. There just wasn’t enough space for the new roots. Lesson learned.

Meanwhile, the Blueberry OG, at 8 weeks from sprout has been purring along in the closet, begging to flower as I can see pistils shooting out. I figure by the time the White Widow is done, the Bluberry will be ready for flip.

And finally, in the backburner, I’ve got an Afghani and Punch Pie taking advantage of the sunshine:

Cheers and happy growing. Hope you are enjoying this blistering heat wave.

Blueberry OG week 2:

I thought I had flipped the BOG too early but the way it has stretched in its first week I’m glad I did flip. She has surpassed the WW in height. I am using both the 2000 and 1000 in there for the added coverage. I did put in the other 1000 I had but with the current heat wave we have had here for the last 3 weeks, it was too much. Might not be a bad idea come winter time or when I get an A/C.

Cheers and happy growing.

Starting to turn color on some buds. Still seeing about 60% white pistils so it may be awhile yet.

Week 7: Pistils have started to recede faster now and buds are getting fatter. Can’t believe she still stretched an inch in the past week. Lights off temps have been mid-60s but with lights on they soar up to mid-80s. Hoping to get a break from this ongoing heat wave.

Quarter pounder or half? What do the good folks think?

I think this is my best effort ever.

This does not include the larf and popcorn buds from the bottom growth which I would estimate to be another ounce or so. It does not look like much volume wise but the buds feel real dense and heavy. I did use 600 watts of LED on this grow to see how it would compare to my HID and what I’ve found are denser buds from the LEDs. Could be my imagination. Only way to find out is to do a side ny side in two identical tents. So much to do yet so little space…

I now have a Punch Pie in its second week from flip:

And another vegging in the closet:

These should be interesting as the seeds came from a stressed feminized plant (overage)…I wonder what I’ll get.

Cheers.
